Happy birthday, Robert Wagner! The Hollywood star, who has been working in TV and movies since 1950, celebrates his 96th birthday on February 10, 2026.

The actor may not have appeared in an original TV or film production since 2018's Donna's Inferno, or 2017's What Happened to Monday, but he remains one of the last surviving members of Hollywood's Golden Age.

However, much of his legacy in the 2010s and beyond has centered around his love life, specifically his romance and subsequent marriage(s) to Natalie Wood.

The late actress wasn't his only great love, however, as Robert had developed a reputation for being one of the industry's most in-demand stars during his heyday. Take a dive into his love life over his decades in Hollywood below…

Robert and Natalie Wood

In 1956, at the age of 26, he met 18-year-old Natalie Wood. They quickly struck up a romance, and by the end of 1957, they'd tied the knot, when she was just 19. Their marriage didn't last, however, with the couple separating in 1960 and divorcing in 1962.

Some reports at the time claim that Natalie caught Robert in an affair with another man, although he has since denied those claims. However, they rekindled their relationship in 1972, remarrying later that year and welcoming a daughter, Courtney, in 1974.

In 1981, Natalie tragically died in the Pacific Ocean off Saint Catalina Island, when she was with Robert and Christopher Walken. Her sister Lana Wood has considered the actor a prime "suspect" in her death, even supposedly outing him in 2001. In 2018, when the investigation into Natalie's death reopened, Robert was named a person of interest, but there has been no movement since.

In the late 1950s, Robert reconnected with actress Marion Marshall, an old friend known for films like The Stooge and I Was a Male War Bride. In 1963, after a nearly two-year long engagement, the pair tied the knot, with Robert becoming a stepfather to her two sons.

They also welcomed a daughter of their own, former TV Guide host Katie Wagner, born in 1964. They separated in 1970 and divorced in 1971. Marion never remarried, retiring from the screen in 1975. She passed away in 2018 at the age of 89, with Robert later writing on social media about her: "She was forever my 'chum'."

In 1959, Robert met fellow 20th Century Fox contract player Jill St. John. Multiple marriages later, on Valentine's Day 1982, the pair began dating. In 1990, after eight years together, they tied the knot in Pacific Palisades.

The couple have co-starred together in film and TV several times since tying the knot. Jill also publicly feuded for decades with her Diamonds Are Forever co-star Lana Wood, Natalie's sister, with the couple's relationship creating further animosity between them. Almost 40 years later, the couple are still married.

Before all his marriages, though, Robert first found love with Oscar-nominated old Hollywood legend Barbara Stanwyck. The pair met while working on 1953's Titanic, with the Hart to Hart star stating that they had a secret four-year relationship that was kept hidden due to their massive age gap (Barbara was 45, he was 22).

"I was her love," he told Fox News in 2002. "She was a wonderful woman, wonderful lady. It was a great time in my life, to be a young actor in the motion picture business. She was very influential," noting they were "very discreet" about it. Barbara never actually confirmed the romance, although Robert said she was the one who ended it.

Robert's other relationships

The star truly did turn out to be a Hollywood ladies' man! While many of his relationships haven't been confirmed, in his memoirs, he's made claims of affairs with the likes of Joan Crawford, Elizabeth Taylor, Joan Collins, Anita Ekberg, Lori Nelson and Shirley Anne Field.

From 1970 to 1972, he was engaged to Frank Sinatra's daughter Tina. She has since married Wes Farrell (1974-76) and Richard M. Cohen (1981-83).
