Laura Linney is ringing in her 62nd birthday, as the star continues to maintain her youthful appearance and personality.

It turns out that the actress' mindset when it comes to age, is to absolutely pay the number no mind.

She revealed to ROUTE Magazine: "I don't even think about it. It's a total waste of my time, and if people don't want what I have to offer, then they don't have to work with me."

Laura expressed that she never prioritizes her looks when it comes to her roles. She added: "[My beauty] was never what I led with anyway. I'm not a staggering beauty, and I've never been considered one, nor do I consider myself one. I think I'm a perfectly good-looking person who can look really good sometimes and can also look really bad sometimes, and that's how I prefer it to be."

The performer understands that her take on aging is rare, however she trusts her individual journey.

She explained: "I've sort of just gone about my business and focused on the work itself and just hoped that the rest of it would take care of itself, and fortunately for me, that was the right way to go. I know that's not right for everyone, but it certainly has been for me."

The performer argued that getting old needs to be reframed as a significant accomplishment, instead of being something embarrassing or shameful.

Laura added: "My level of appreciation of the basics of life has gone up. You know, I recently heard someone complaining about getting old, and I had such a violent reaction to that. There's no question that getting old isn't easy, but it's a privilege, folks. I'm over people being 'woe is me' about getting old," per Prevention Magazine.

The entertainer's refreshing perspective on age also inspired her personal life.

Laura became a first-time mother at the age of 49, as she welcomed her son Bennett Armistead Schauer into the world in 2014 with her husband since 2009, Marc Schauer.

Although she initially planned on having kids when she was younger, she effortlessly surrendered to her personal timing.

Laura recalled to ROUTE Magazine: "You're a very different person at 29 than you are at 49. I wish that I had been able to have children earlier, but it just was not in the cards for me. So, I just had to wait."
