If one thing hasn't changed for David Beckham in recent weeks, it's his desire to head home to see his mum, Sandra Beckham.
The former Manchester United player, 50, has been embroiled in a family scandal after his son, Brooklyn, released a bombshell statement revealing he doesn't want reconciliation with his family. The 800-word statement also includes a series of allegations about his A-list parents.
On Friday, the dad-of-four enjoyed a trip to see his mum and elder sister Joanne, enjoying a slap-up pie and mash lunch in Essex. "Nothing better for the soul than Pie & Mash with mum. Love you mum. @sandra_beckham49 @jo_jo_beckham_ @tonyspieandmash," he penned alongside the image.
It's no surprise that David gushed about his mum in the caption, as David and his sister have a running joke about the Hugo Boss ambassador being his mum's "favourite."
Sandra in the spotlight
Brooklyn's grandmother, Sandra, was dragged into the ongoing scandal, claiming that there was wedding drama over her sitting on the top table with him and his new wife.
The Cloud23 founder wrote: "During the wedding planning, my mum went so far as to call me 'evil' because Nicola and I chose to include my Nanny Sandra, and Nicola's Naunni at our table, because they both didn't have their husbands. Both of our parents had their own tables equally adjacent to ours."
While tradition usually dictates that the couple's parents sit on either side of them at the top table of the wedding, Brooklyn and Nicola chose to have their grandmothers with them instead due to them "being on their own".
Sandra and David's dad, Ted are divorced, and her ex-husband attended the wedding with his new wife, Hilary. Meanwhile, Nicola's late grandmother attended on her own, as her husband had sadly passed away. The 26-year-old is famously very close with his granny, reportedly spending just as much time with both of his grandparents growing up as he did with David and Victoria, according to The Mirror.
