The Wanted star Max George revealed he was rushed to hospital on Tuesday, one year after having a pacemaker fitted.

The musician, who starred on Strictly Come Dancing in 2020,  revealed he had been taken to A&E and shared a video from his hospital bed. See what he said in the video above.

What's happening guys, finally got a bed now, which is nice, been here pretty much all night. I'm absolutely knackered, but they've given me a bed in a little side room which is cool. No idea what's going on, what's happened or why it happened but that's why I'm here so…Praying we'll know a bit more. I've had better days."

As well as the video, George wrote alongside photos from the hospital: "What now ffs. This [expletive] ALWAYS happens in the middle of the night." He then referenced his beloved pet Pitbull, writing, "Poor Albert". Max later shared a selfie on his stories, writing: "Running HOT," with a towel on his head.

In December 2024, Max underwent major heart surgery after being diagnosed with an atrioventricular heart block, a condition where electrical signals slow or stop, causing an irregular heartbeat.

Subsequently, he underwent multiple surgeries and had a pacemaker fitted. At the time, Max wrote: "Say hello to my little friend! Given the last 10 days, this is the best Christmas present I could've ever wished for. Pacemaker is in. The operation took around two and a half hours. The main issue being some of my veins had collapsed where the wires were meant to go."

He added, "But the surgeons and nurses at the NHS have been incredible. I owe everything to them. The surgeon kindly put my pacemaker just underneath a very special tattoo of mine. So I'm sure it's being looked after."

Recent health updates

His recent hospital dash comes after he headed back to the hospital last month for tests after problems with one of his lungs.

"I can't say it is good to be back because it is not. I just had a scan done on my chest because I've had a bit of an issue with one of my lungs. It should be fine. It is just a precaution," he wrote at the time.
