All the details from Best Quality Designer Handbag 's exclusive party to celebrate Myleene's 20 years at Classic FM - as her fiance Simon Motson pays tribute to his bride-to-be
When Myleene Klass marked two decades of broadcasting on Classic FM, it seemed like the perfect time to throw a very special party. Hello! magazine was on hand to ensure this accomplished musician, former popstar and charity campaigner could celebrate in style. Collaborating with the radio station and its star presenter, the stylish soiree saw the 47-year-old joined by her nearest and dearest.
A select group of guests - including fellow Classic FM presenters Dan Walker and Charlotte Hawkins and her beloved fiancé, Simon Motson - gathered inside The Cadogan, A Belmond Hotel in London’s Knightsbridge to toast the star.

Making a rare public appearance together, Myleene and businessman Simon – who got engaged in September 2020 and whom she calls ‘Sim’ – posed for exclusive photographs. Myleene told us she was delighted to have him by her side after he had fulfilled parenting duties at home; the couple share son Apollo, six, alongside Myleene’s daughters Hero, 14 and Ava, 18.
"Sim just chucked the kids in bed and ran to get here, but it’s really lovely to have him with me tonight,” Myleene said as the pair cuddled up. Businessman Simon told us of his love for his bride-to-be, saying: "She is beautiful and I love her and she is amazing. I am incredibly proud of Myleene and I am very lucky to be here, watching her get what she really deserves. She is an incredible mother, an incredible musician, her work ethic and example to the children is second to none and it’s fantastic to see an acknowledgement at Classic FM for what she has done."
As guests mingled inside the hotel’s elegant lounge, invitees sipped on Sipsmith gin and vodka cocktails, including specially created recipes like ‘Myleene’s Martini’ – made up of London Dry Gin, vermouth and lemon zest – and the 'HELLO! Espresso', a delicious concoction of sipping vodka, Kahlua and espresso. Canapés including smoked salmon blinis with dill cream and salmon roe and soy and chilli tiger prawns were circulated as everyone was entertained by a four-piece string quartet, which Myleene had personally asked to perform as they were friends and contemporaries of her daughter Ava at the Royal Academy of Music.
In a shimmering floor-length gown, the belle of the ball sparkled as she chatted with her friends and colleagues, including many who have worked with her on her passionate campaign to reform miscarriage care for women, a platform which saw her awarded an MBE by King Charles last year.
Her fellow Classic FM host Dan Walker told Hello! “She has been a superstar for years and I just love the way she deals with people. I think when some people reach the pinnacle of fame they can be a certain way but Myleene isn’t that way at all. She is a campaigner as well as being a mum and a brilliant music teacher and I love the enthusiasm she has for the things she does.”
And Charlotte Hawkins, in a leopard print dress from Next, said: "I am so thrilled for Myleene, it’s such a milestone for her to have been at Classic FM for 20 years. She has inspired by 11-year-old daughter with her piano playing after I showed her the video of Myleene playing the piano backwards."
Other friends from Myleene’s life who scored invites included Dame Kelly Holmes and Vanessa Feltz. “She is just lovely and so multi-talented, so smart and down to earth,” the Olympian, dressed in Reiss and All Saints, told us: “She has that absolute blend of authenticity and support and is beautiful and so smart. You don’t have to see someone that much to know you have got that mutual respect for each other and I wanted to support her tonight.”
Vanessa, in a dramatic dress by Canella Lane, added: “I am a lifelong friend and admirer of Myleene, she is dynamic and incredible and amazingly talented and selfless. She is a fantastic friend to me and I could not love her more; we are there for each other, sometimes in our darkest hours, so when there is something as glorious as this to celebrate, there is nothing that would keep me away.”
Meanwhile, RuPaul’s Drag Race UK star Tia Kofi said: “I have known her as a friend for a few years and I idolised her growing up from her Hear’Say days. She has been amazing; she loves drag and I love her.”
Halfway through the evening, Sally Ardis, Senior Managing editor for Classic FM from Classic FM delivered a speech paying tribute to the star. The woman of the hour then transfixed everyone as she played an exquisite piece of classical music on the piano. “It’s so lovely to have so many people, who for the last 20 years have meant so much to me, here tonight. It’s really touching as you don’t get here on your own. When I started 20 years ago, I could never have imagined that this was the life I would be able to build – and it’s all come from music.”
