Long before his romances with Angelina Jolie, Jennifer Aniston and Gwyneth Paltrow, there was Brad Pitt's relationship with Juliette Lewis. The actress rose to fame in the 1990s when she became known for her roles in independent and arthouse films, and she was even nominated for an Oscar in 1992.
Juliette, now 52, met the actor, now 62, when she was 17, and he was a decade older when they starred opposite one another in the films Too Young To Die and Kalifornia. They dated on-and-off for four years from 1989 to 1993. This was around the time he saw his own star soar in 1991's Thelma & Louise, followed by A River Runs Through It in 1992.
As for Juliette, she was making a name for herself on screen. The star was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for Martin Scorsese's Cape Fear, released in 1991, and was also in What's Eating Gilbert Grape alongside Leonardo DiCaprio in 1993.
It is clear that Brad - now dating Ines De Ramon, and father to six children with ex-wife Angelina - has good memories of their romance. "It was one of the greatest relationships I've ever been in," he told Vanity Fair in 1995. "The problem is, we grow up with this vision that love conquers all, and that's just not so, is it?"
Juliette has been similarly enthusiastic. "I was a teenager at the time," she told the Daily Mail in 2010. "It's a lifetime away. I was in my high-school years and it was a wonderful, loving relationship with a fun, smart guy. Then it was over and he went on to become incredibly famous."
In 2003, Juliette decided to pause her acting in order to pursue music, with her band 'Juliette and the Licks'. She has returned to the screen in various TV roles since the mid-2010s, including Welcome to Chippendales and Yellowjackets.
Current love
After Brad - who went on to meet Gwyneth in 1994 on the set of the crime thriller Se7en - the star dated skateboarder Steve Berra, to whom she was married for four years before they parted ways in 2003. She was then with 'Rage Against The Machine' drummer Brad Wilk, with whom she split in 2019.
However, seven years later, Juliette - who doesn't have children - appears to have once more found love. Sharing a post on Instagram to mark Valentine's Day, she shared a sweet selfie with an unnamed man and the caption: "To my handsome Man. Thank you for loving me and teaching me what HOME is."
