Congratulations are in order for Antiques Roadshow expert Theo Burrell, who tied the knot with her partner of 13 years in an intimate wedding ceremony held in Edinburgh, Scotland.
The BBC star, who was diagnosed with a grade four brain tumour (glioblastoma) in June 2022 at the age of 35, said 'I do' to her partner Alex in front of her close friends and family on 28 March.
Taking to Instagram, Theo shared a sweet photo of the bride and groom, who share a son named Jonah. She wrote in the caption: "On 28th March Alex and I celebrated our wedding with our closest family and friends and it was amazing!"
"Not only did we have a lot of fun but it feels so nice to be husband and wife after all these years together," continued Theo, who looked stunning in a white gown embellished with sequins, while her husband looked dashing in a dark grey suit.
Sharing an update on her health, Theo wrote: "I'm still sleeping off the exhaustion and a cold but it was worth every second! Next up I have a scan to get through... But we'll deal with that when the time comes."
Theo's cancer diagnosis
In June 2022, Theo was diagnosed with glioblastoma — the most aggressive and common type of brain cancer — after suffering from pressurised headaches, sickness, vision problems, tinnitus and pins and needles.
After undergoing surgery and chemotherapy, Theo eventually received stable scans. However, in December 2024, a scan showed a recurrence, which led to a new round of chemotherapy.
Theo is now a patron for Brain Tumour Research and in July last year, took on a fitness challenge of 88 squats a day for a month in aid of the charity.
Theo's latest health update
In March, Theo shared an update with her Instagram followers ahead of her wedding day. "As we know the battle to get brain cancer and brain tumours under control continues," she wrote. "But I must say, I'm reading and seeing so much positive news going on in the brain tumour world - we just need to get the science to the patients. No small task I know - but a very very necessary one."
Theo is currently taking a course of steroids, which has resulted in weight gain.
She explained: "My tiredness continues as do the steroids which have made me gain so much weight - but I've dusted off my Fitbit and am getting out and about on sunny days."
