Romeo, Romeo, wherefore art thou Romeo? Perhaps we'll never know, but what we can be sure of is that Olivia Hussey is still the definitive actress to take on Shakespeare's best-loved leading lady, Juliet Capulet, for many fans to this day. But when she wasn't in fair Verona, Olivia had three children to look after, remaining a proud mother throughout her life.

A legend of '60s cinema
Olivia Hussey's starring role as Juliet Capulet put her in the cinema history books while still in her teens. Shakespeare's tale follows the star-crossed lovers Romeo and Juliet as they defy their families' feud to live (not so) happily ever after.
For many, Olivia Hussey's legacy still comes back to this early role, but she built on early stardom with appearances in Black Christmas (1974), It (1990) and several roles in the Star Wars franchise. She sadly passed on 27 December 2024.
