While the 41-year-old is riding high on the success of her latest album, Superbloom, you may be wondering about Jessie's family behind the spotlight. Keep reading for everything we know about the singer's life away from the music, including her actress sister and her BBC reporter father…

Meet Jessie's family

Jessie is married to her childhood sweetheart, Sam Burrows, whom she married in August 2024. Speaking to The Guardian in 2017 about their relationship, Jessie said: "Sam and I have been together since we were 18, we know everything about each other. There's something so beautiful about that. But there's also this need for desire and longing, something that upsets the … coasting."

Sam and Jessie are proud parents to three children: a daughter born in 2016, a son born in 2019 and another son in 2021. Their voices are featured in a track called Love You For on her new album, Superbloom.

Reflecting on the song in an Instagram post, Jessie wrote: "Love You For featuring my beautiful kids. This is a purely selfish song for my family & I but perhaps you and your family will want to dance around in the kitchen to it on Sunday morning too x"

Meet Jessie's parents

Fans of Jessie's Table Manners podcast may already be familiar with her lovable mother, Lennie, who often treats guests to a home-cooked meal while they chat.

Before launching the mother-daughter podcast in 2017, Lennie trained at the Tavistock Institute to become a psychiatric social worker. Speaking to Creative Colour, she explained: "Since 1989, I have worked as an independent social worker and a children's guardian, often representing the case of the child in court cases."

Lennie was with Jessie's father, John Ware, a Panorama reporter, until Jessie was about 10 years old – something that proved very painful for the family at the time. "It was difficult, but I always made sure we had happy times in our house," Lennie told The Times

Meanwhile, on Elizabeth Day's How To Fail podcast, Jessie explained that she regretted not speaking to her father for years after he split from Lennie.

"I felt incredibly loyal to my mother, I felt like I took on the role of being like the dad in the house. We were all incredibly hurt by him and what he had done – he cheated on my mum, lots of people have that story. And there was the deceit," said Jessie.

"The way I thought I could support my mum – even though she didn't want us not to see him, she never, ever said that – I felt like my loyalties lay with her. Even though she'd be saying 'you should see your father, he's your only father, he wants to see you'.

"And it was my way of having a sense of control and power over punishing him: not speaking to him, the silent treatment, having that control. I regret it now because I actually think [of] the impact it had on all of us – because we all became a unit, my brother and my sister, we all stuck together and none of us were going to see him. I think we were just so hurt."

Who are Jessie's siblings?

Jessie is one of three and is not the only famous face in the family. Her elder sister, Hannah Ware, is an actress who has appeared in various TV and film projects, including political drama series Boss, soap opera Betrayal and Netflix's crime thriller The One.

Like many siblings, Hannah and Jessie got up to plenty of daring antics as children – one of which Hannah detailed when she appeared as a guest on Table Manners.

"My sister was splashing me from the bathroom, there was no privacy in our house so Jessie was having a bath, I was probably cleaning my teeth in the bathroom and she was splashing me and I told her to stop and she wouldn't listen," recounted Hannah.

"So I smashed her head against the bath and I knocked her second tooth out and Mum's best friend Claire had to fish her teeth out the bath."

She continued: "But Jessie, do you remember that I got my comeuppance years later when I was chasing a boy on a bicycle in Wales? Jessie was chasing after me […] and I fell in a bush and knocked my teeth out.

"Jessie was such a sweet younger sister, she was really worried about me. I chipped my tooth and it was so humiliating, we had to leave early."

Hannah and Jessie also share a younger brother, Alex, who is a doctor in anaesthetics – much to their mother's delight.
