The legendary Sunset Strip was home to a rock and roll reunion on May 28, 2026, when Guns N' Roses' Slash and Duff McKagan joined Alice Cooper for Susan Holmes McKagan's book launch at the Sunset Marquis.

Slash was joined by his long-term partner Meegan, with HELLO! spotting the pair arriving fashionably late and greeted by Duff, who gave the pair a big hug. Susan, Duff's wife of 20 years, then joined the three, and they posed for pictures alongside Alice and his wife of 50 years, Sheryl.

It was a nostalgic ‘90s-inspired evening for Susan, whose book, The Velvet Rose, was published in 2019 but has now received a long-awaited paperback release.

Slash and Meegan first dated in 1988 when Meegan, then 19, was a friend of Erin Everly, Axl Rose's wife at the time.
They split as the band began to hit the big time, with Alan Niven, the band's former manager, telling Mick Wall for his book Last Of The Giants: The True Story of Guns N’ Roses: "Meegan bailed on him because it was so crazy. And well done Meegan for having a sense of self-preservation and getting her ass out of there."

Slash went on to marry model-actress Renée Suran in 1992, and in 2001 he married Perla Ferrar, with whom he shares sons London and Cash. The former couple initially filed for divorce in 2010, though later reconciled, before filing again in late 2014; their divorce was finalized in 2018.
Slash and Meegan rekindled their romance in 2015, after her divorce from husband Mark Knight, and have built a life together in Los Angeles.

Slash has also been there for Meegan, most notably in July 2024 when Meegan's beloved daughter Lucy-Bleu died by suicide.
"Lucy-Bleu Knight (December 6, 1998), beloved daughter of Meegan Hodges and Mark Knight, stepdaughter of Samantha Somers Knight and Slash, sister of Scarlet Knight, stepsister of London and Cash Hudson, passed away peacefully in Los Angeles, CA on July 19, 2024," the family's statement read.
In tribute to Lucy-Bleu, Slash wrote that his "heart is permanently fractured," writing: "I will never ever stop missing you & remembering what a beacon of happiness, laughter, creativity & beauty you have always been. & still are."
