For almost a decade, Pomellato has used its voice and its platform to champion women’s empowerment. This International Women’s Day, the luxury jewellery house deepens that commitment with the ninth edition of its Pomellato for Women campaign, turning the spotlight on a form of gender-based violence that is rarely visible yet profoundly damaging: economic abuse.

The 2026 initiative explores the hidden dynamics of financial control and the role economic autonomy plays in safeguarding women’s agency. At the centre of the campaign is a striking video bringing together a global cast of cultural voices united in a call for awareness and change.

Jane Fonda leads the cast, joined by actors Kerry Washington and Michelle Monaghan, Italian cinema talents Benedetta Porcaroli and Isabella Ferrari, model and mental health advocate Amelia Gray, entrepreneur Sara Nuru, and Japanese volleyball captain Mayu Ishikawa. Together, they reflect on the subtle yet pervasive ways financial dependence can shape and limit a woman’s choices.

"THE PRICE OF FREEDOM" POMELLATO FOR WOMEN CAMPAIGN 2026

The campaign draws on research commissioned by Pomellato and conducted by SDA Bocconi School of Management, identifying three recurring patterns of economic abuse: restriction, when access to finances or decision-making is limited; sabotage, when education, work or opportunity is deliberately blocked; and exploitation, when a woman’s resources or labour are used to reinforce an unequal balance of power.

Often beginning subtly, sometimes framed as care or protection, these dynamics can gradually foster dependence, making it increasingly difficult to leave.

"It’s ok to ask for help, it’s ok to get support. But we have to be aware of when that support turns into control. Support should free you." - Kerry Washington

Kerry Washington highlights how support can subtly evolve into something more restrictive: "The truth is, none of us are meant to stand on our own. It’s ok to ask for help, it’s ok to get support. But we have to be aware of when that support turns into control. Support should free you. When women lose economic freedom, whole economies shrink. Giving space to women, does not take space from men. It amplifies it."

Michelle Monaghan frames financial freedom in terms that extend far beyond money alone. For her, it begins with access to knowledge, opportunity, and possibility: "Financial freedom beyond money to me means the opportunity for education. It means the pursuit of dreams, of goals, and to be able to make decisions for the health and well-being of myself as well as my family."

For Amelia Gray, economic independence is deeply personal: "To own my life, it means taking full responsibility for the path that I walk. It means standing on a foundation that I built with my own hands. One that isn’t dependent on anyone else’s approval or contribution. Owning my life is knowing that my choices, my work, my dreams, and my future belong to me. I am the architect of my reality, and the life that I am creating is a reflection of my strength, and my self-belief."

Pomellato CEO Sabina Belli adds: "Economic violence is invisible, but its impact is devastating. When a woman loses her financial freedom, she also loses the power to choose her own life. Financial independence is human dignity. It’s the foundation of true freedom."

While the message is urgent, the campaign ultimately looks toward a more hopeful horizon. Financial independence, the voices agree, is not simply about money, it is about dignity, agency and the freedom to shape your own future.

Beyond awareness, Pomellato continues its longstanding support of organisations working directly with survivors, including CADMI (Casa di Accoglienza delle Donne Maltrattate) and FreeFrom, a partner of the Kering Foundation.

As the brand reminds us this International Women’s Day, true luxury lies not only in craftsmanship and beauty, but in the freedom to choose your own path.
