Princess Anne dazzled in burnt orange as she joined a host of famous faces for the first day of the 2026 Randox Grand National Festival at Aintree Racecourse in Merseyside.
The senior member of the royal family stepped out in a stunning, vibrant wool coat for her day at the horse racing, which featured structured, pointed lapels and two long pockets outlined by a visible seam. She wore the same garment in 2020 for day one of the Cheltenham Festival.
She wore a gold animal brooch on one of her lapels and jazzed up her neckline by wearing a patterned, colourful beige scarf, which she tucked into her coat. While the rest of her outfit was hidden by the outer layer, it appeared she was wearing two varying shades of beige as her outfit's base.
Peaking out from beneath the jacket, Anne wore a light tan coloured top and a darker tan skirt, pooled around her knees and spilt out from under the hem of her coat.
She walked around the northern grounds in a pair of chocolate brown patent leather knee-high boots and carried her things in a small dark brown leather handbag, matching her gloves with the accessory's design.
The Princess Royal added some small pearl earrings to complete her outfit and kept her makeup minimal with a touch of pink lipstick for the exciting occasion.
On the first day of the three-day event, Anne was joined by the likes of Sir Alex Ferguson, former England player Michael Owen, Olympic gold medallist Sam Quek, and Coronation Street stars Lucy Fallon and Charlotte Jordan.
HELLO! previously spoke to colour analyst Gabriella Winters of Chromology UK, who has more than ten years of personal colour analysis experience. She revealed that orange is not a colour the royals usually like, including Princess Kate: "I think the answer lies in DNA and Kate's awareness of how certain colours [are] less flattering compared to other colours."
She continued: "People absorb and reflect the same colours differently depending on their unique biological makeup. When a colour is placed adjacent to your face, it will reflect its wavelength onto you." Notably, wearing certain colours can make you appear healthier, with more radiant-looking skin, and those that complement the colour of your eyes or hair can make them 'pop' even more.
Like mother, like daughter
While they decided to attend separate days this year, Anne's daughter Zara Tindall also made an appearance at the racecourse close to Liverpool's city centre and chose a blush pink outfit for her day out.
The 44-year-old was accompanied by her former professional rugby player husband, Mike Tindall, for the occasion and also brought her 12-year-old daughter Mia along to watch the horses.
Zara followed in her mother's stylish footsteps with her soft ballet pink suit by royally loved label Me + Em, under which she wore a Cefinn blouse.
She added a Camilla Rose hat in the same soft pink hue and wore Emmy pointed-toe stilettos on her feet. Zara completed her look with elegant Hector Lion drop pearl earrings, tinted sunglasses and a gold clutch by Strathberry.
Her daughter Mia looked elegant and grown-up in a blue pinstriped suit, which she wore over the top of a lacey white blouse with a pie-crust collar.
On her head, Mia kept her hair in place with a matching blue headband and added some more flair to her suit with silver loafers and a matching metallic shoulder bag.
