Oscar-winning actress Sissy Spacek delighted fans with a rare public appearance at the 2026 Academy Awards, stepping onto the red carpet alongside her husband Jack Fisk and their daughter Schuyler Fisk.

The legendary Carrie star, 76, kept her look effortlessly chic for Hollywood’s biggest night, opting for a tailored black suit layered over a simple blouse. Adding a touch of her signature understated cool, Sissy completed the look with small round sunglasses and minimal jewellery.

Standing beside her was daughter Schuyler, 43, who looked strikingly similar to her famous mother as the pair posed together.

Schuyler chose a flowing black gown with a plunging neckline and elegant draping, styling her blonde hair in soft waves that accentuated the family resemblance between the two women.

Also joining them was Sissy’s husband, production designer and director Jack Fisk, who looked polished in an all-black suit with a satin lapel and black tie.

The trio’s red carpet moment marked a rare family outing for the famously private actress, whose career has spanned more than five decades.

Sissy married Jack in 1974 after the pair met while working on the film Badlands, directed by Terrence Malick. Their creative partnership has endured for more than half a century, making them one of Hollywood’s longest-standing marriages.

Jack has built a distinguished career as a production designer, working on films including There Will Be Blood, The Revenant and Killers of the Flower Moon.

Together they raised two daughters, Schuyler and Madison Fisk, both of whom followed creative paths of their own.

Schuyler is an actress and singer-songwriter who has appeared in projects such as Orange County, The Baby-Sitters Club and Nashville. She has also released several albums and continues to balance acting with music.

While Sissy has always kept her family life largely out of the spotlight, the red carpet moment made one thing clear to fans watching online: the resemblance between mother and daughter is uncanny.

Despite being one of Hollywood’s most respected performers, Sissy has largely stepped back from frequent red carpet appearances in recent years.

The actress won the Academy Award for Best Actress in 1981 for her unforgettable performance as country singer Loretta Lynn in Coal Miner’s Daughter, cementing her place in film history. That same year, the duo decided to leave LA altogether and start a quiet life in Virginia, far away from the spotlight.

They then moved to their 210-acre horse farm, purchased in 1978, so their daughters could grow up surrounded by nature. "We moved there not because we didn't love LA, but we wanted to raise our children in a more natural environment," the mom of two told Yahoo.

"[An environment] where they could make mistakes, ride ponies, do stupid stuff and climb trees and not have to deal with that celebrity child thing." She reiterated her sentiment in an interview with Garden and Gun, sharing that the farm became her refuge.

"I wanted to give my children roots. Have them grow up with animals and dirt between their toes," the Oscar winner explained. "In 1978, my husband and I got the farm as a place to get away for a month or so. Then in 1981, I got pregnant with Schuyler, and the stays got longer."

"I love cities. I do. But nature is my refuge. A bug hitting a screen on a summer night is music to me. The wind in the trees, the creek running full after a storm. All of those sounds are a choir that fills me up and calms me. It took me a long time to realize that."
