Michelle Keegan has always been refreshingly down-to-earth, despite her illustrious career. The mother-of-one remains loyal to her Manchester roots and regularly enjoys home comforts, as well as nights in.
Even though the star of Fool Me Once may live in a £3.5 million house with her husband Mark Wright and one-year-old daughter, Palma, and has a net worth of over £4 million, she enjoys a bargain, which she displayed over the weekend when she went shopping with her mother, Jackie. The pair headed to a charity shop, with the Brassic star taking a selfie amongst the bric-a-brac. "Mum dragging me around charity shops whilst she picks up random things she definitely doesn't need," she penned.
Although Michelle made a light-hearted joke, charity shops are greatly received in the current climate. It has never been cooler to buy second-hand; not only does it help stop fashion landfill, but the charity donations are invaluable. Plus, there are many great bargains to be had.
Princess Kate's charity shop visit
Michelle is in great company - even the Princess of Wales was spotted at a charity shop this year. In February, Kate made two secret, unplanned trips at the end of her visit to British textile manufacturers in West Wales, including popping into a local charity shop.
The 44-year-old quick tour of the Ty Hafan shop in Lampeter - a cause close to her heart as she's been a patron of the hospice since January 2025, following in the footsteps of her late mother-in-law, Princess Diana.
Maree Thomas, regional sales manager, told PEOPLE Magazine: "She thanked both the volunteers and staff, chatted while taking photos, and insisted on quickly seeing the haberdashery section despite her team advising she didn’t have time. She also signed our customer comments book. The visit was brief and unplanned, [she] clearly took time out for us and was very engaged and we were thrilled to welcome her and her team. We were all over the moon and on a real high following this special event."
The Princess didn't have time to buy anything, but made sure to look around and greeted crowds outside, thanking staff for all the work that they do for the charity.
