While Helen George often turns heads in glamorous gowns on a red carpet, her off-duty style is just as eye-catching. The Call the Midwife star, 41, cut a stylish figure in an embroidered mini dress for a day out in London recently – and her wedge sandals made for the perfect summertime accessory.
The actress was dressed for warm weather while walking her dog in the city in a photo posted to her Instagram Stories on 3 June. Helen's long-sleeved striped dress featured flowing long sleeves and a contrasting red embroidered panel on the back. The star carried a purple suede bag and had her blonde tresses blowing in the wind.
She finished off her off-duty outfit with a pair of towering tan wedge heels with a woven jute platform. "Tourist in my own city between shows," Helen captioned the photo.
Booked and busy
The actress is booked and busy over the summer in a new production of the musical, High Society, in which she is playing Tracy Lord at the Barbican from 19 May to 11 July. Helen is starring in the adaptation alongside Felicity Kendall and Freddie Fox.
Speaking to HELLO! in an exclusive interview about his new role, Freddie Fox said of working with the Call the Midwife actress: "Today we were singing a number, and I said: "I'm sort of struggling with the diminuendo on this particular note. Helen said, 'Think about doing it that way.' And that changed everything. I’m very aware that I’m playing with the Premier League, which is lovely."
He added: "I made it very clear at the beginning that I was a newbie to the world of musical theatre and the company has all embraced me and been so reassuring."
Red carpet style
The cast of High Society recently stepped out for an after-party at The Barbican Theatre on 3 June – and Helen went all out for the special occasion. The star's red carpet wardrobe is an eclectic mix of high-glamour and daring pieces, with her most recent sheer lace look making for a show-stopping moment.
Helen stunned in a high-collared lace dress with a structured corset that laced up at the front. She paired her look with pointed-toe heels and her blonde tresses fashion up in a bun. The star is clearly loving chocolate brown in her style rotation right now after wearing a mini dress in the colour for the Cirque du Soleil "OVO" premiere in January.
Helen paired her dress with a statement fur-trimmed leather trench coat and soft glam for her makeup.
