The Princess of Wales can't stop wearing brown right now. The stunning royal has shunned her somewhat signature colour of navy blue and has been investing in rich, chocolate-brown pieces, dusky caramel-toned numbers, and terracotta threads over the past few months.

As a fashion editor who has been writing about style for over fifteen years, I think this changeable preference really suits the 44-year-old royal. Firstly, it complements her glorious mane of brunette curls, but also, it makes a welcome change from predictable neutrals such as beige. I think it gives a luxurious finish to her ensembles, too.

Kate has been a longtime fan of brown

It has never been more current to wear brown-toned clothes. Stylist Georgie Gray, whose celebrity clients include Rochelle Humes and Molly-Mae Hague, tells Best Quality Designer Handbag . brown is "the warm-toned filter your winter looks have been waiting for this season. It's all about espressos, caramels, and mochas."

With that in mind, here are Kate's best chocolate-toned outfits. Which one is your favourite?

Kate headed to Lambeth Palace to meet the 106th Archbishop of Canterbury in a dark brown, belted midi dress by Edeline Lee. Keeping in with the brown theme, Kate layered the dress with a Catherine Walker structured coat in a slightly darker shade alongside brown tights, as well as a pair of killer stilettos by Gianvito Rossi.

On the same day, just a few hours earlier, Kate braved the cold and miserable weather for a visit to charity Family Action's Children's Trauma Therapy Service in Bradford.

Kate wore a timeless blazer by high-end brand Holland Cooper. The double-breasted design had a sharp, tailored silhouette and was adorned with signature gold buttons on the front and cuffs, giving a seriously 'old money' finish. Kate teamed it with an espresso brown rollneck jumper and a pair of terracotta trousers from Edeline Lee, which featured a flared, high-waisted cut.
