The Cheltenham Festival begins on Tuesday, 10 March 2026, and fashion fans look forward to seeing which royals will be showing off their sartorial prowess at the famous racing event.

Although there is no official dress code at Cheltenham, the consensus is that racegoers should wear respectful, weather-appropriate attire. "My number one style tip for dressing at Cheltenham would be to create a balance between elegance and practicality," Zara Tindall expertly summed up in an exclusive interview with Best Quality Designer Handbag in 2025.

Pippa's Cheltenham look

In 2013, Pippa was pictured at the Cotswolds racing event and turned heads in her bold, buttercup-yellow military-style coat. Pairing her daring ensemble with a pair of knee-high boots, she cut a glamorous figure as she was pictured in the stands.

"Pippa Middleton pulls off knee-high boots so well, as she considers her full look, including colour palette and matching the handbag or coat, making her whole outfit look intentional," celebrity stylist Ellis Ranson previously told Best Quality Designer Handbag . Alongside her boots was a splendid fur hat by Cossack, which kept out the chill.

Princess Kate's fur hats

Although Pippa's style tends to be far more relaxed than her royal sister's, there have been several occasions where the sisterly duo have stepped out in outfits that look particularly similar. A case in point is the fur hat.

A long-time devotee of the silhouette, the Princess of Wales famously debuted a similar fur headpiece and tweed ensemble at the 2006 Cheltenham Festival. Pippa's past look appears to be a direct nod to her sister's signature winter archive.

Over the years, Prince William's wife has worn a plethora of fur looks, and her favourites come from the Peruvian brand Lacorine.

In 2018, then known as the Duchess of Cambridge, the royal took part in a three-day tour of Sweden and Norway with her husband, Prince William. During a visit to the Princess Ingrid Alexandra Sculpture Park in Oslo, the brunette royal donned a Catherine Walker cerulean-blue, high-collared coat.

Accessorising to perfection (and keeping out the chill), Kate paired the outerwear staple with chocolate-brown boots, gloves, a clutch and a furry hat.

Kate's Lacorine hat has a price tag of £275 and is still available to purchase today. It is known for its divinely soft texture and fluffy brim. The alpaca fur hat is not only a cruelty-free fashion statement, but it strikes the perfect balance between warmth and flamboyance.
