Claudia Winkleman set for new presenting role on beloved Channel 4 show


The Strictly Come Dancing and Traitors host will be adding another string to her bow in this exciting new role on Channel 4's dog show

Fresh off the success of the latest season of The Traitors, Claudia Winkleman is set for a new presenting role on Channel 4's beloved dog show, Crufts 2026.

The presenting star, best known for helming shows like The Traitors and, up until recently, Strictly Come Dancing alongside Tess Daly, will join Clare Balding, Ellie Simmonds and Radzi Chinyanganya on the team bringing live coverage to viewers across the world.

The event, which unfolds over four days, will be available to watch across Channel 4 and More4, with dog-loving viewers able to enjoy almost 20 hours of live television.

What has Claudia Winkleman said about Crufts 2026?

Speaking about her new role in a statement, Claudia said: "I absolutely love dogs and there is literally nowhere else on earth I'd rather be. I can't wait to join this incredible team and I'm so grateful to Channel 4 for allowing me to be part of it. I have a pocket rammed with treats."

Claudia is a well-known dog lover and is often spotted walking around London with her King Charles Spaniel, Skip. In November, the star shared a behind-the-scenes snap of her pet at the Strictly studios, writing: "Strictly with Skip. All love to @sineadmckeefry @debbiedannell and @sarah_taylor_hair_stylist."

What to expect from Crufts 2026

Hosted at Birmingham's NEC and organised by The Royal Kennel Club, Crufts showcases the best of the dog world, with competitive events across agility, obedience and flyball. Dogs taking part range from pedigree to working and crossbreed.

As for the coverage, viewers can watch the most popular events from home as the animals put their "best paw forward", as well as the final competition for the prestigious Best in Show award.

Who else is presenting alongside Claudia?

Claudia joins an established team of presenters, including Clare Balding, Crufts regular Radzi Chinyanganya and Paralympic champion swimmer Ellie Simmonds. Together, they will present features and interviews, as well as bring viewers the latest news from the biggest dog show in the world.

Following the Channel 4 announcement, Clare said: "I'm really looking forward to working with Claudia, who is a fantastic addition to the team. She really loves dogs and will bring an additional element of fun, as well an intelligent curiosity and, of course, style."

The dog show's resident vet, Dr Paul Manktelow, will also be on hand to offer dog health advice and best practices, while Jim Rosenthal and Frank Kane will provide commentary.

Crufts 2026 airs on Channel 4 and More4 from Thursday 5 March to Sunday 8 March.
