Strike star Tom Burke is set to lead an upcoming film from Oscar-nominated director Lenny Abrahamson (Normal People, Room) – and it sounds like a tear-jerker.
The new drama, which is currently untitled, also stars Eve Hewson (Bad Sisters) and tells the story of a 12-year-old boy living in Dublin's Jewish community in the late 1970s.
I am definitely keeping my eye out for this one. Not only does the drama boast an impressive leading cast, but it's penned and directed by Lenny Abrahamson, the acclaimed director of the moving 2015 drama Room, for which Brie Larson won an Oscar, and the lockdown phenomenon, Normal People, which shot Paul Mescal and Daisy Edgar-Jones to stardom. He reunites with the multi-award-winning production company, Element Pictures (Normal People, Poor Things, The Favourite), for the upcoming film, which starts shooting in Dublin in March.
