Told over four parts, The Lady is based on real-life events and stars Mia McKenna-Bruce as Jane Andrews, the former royal dresser to Sarah Ferguson, formerly the Duchess of York, who is played by Natalie Dormer.
After nine years working for the duchess, Jane was dismissed from her role and embarked on a tumultuous relationship with Thomas Cressman – one that led to "disastrous consequences".
Reflecting on the nature of this true-story show, The Lady's costume designer Emma Fryer exclusively told Best Quality Designer Handbag : "I've done jobs like this before, like the Ruth Ellis story, where they're difficult stories to tell on a certain level, and there are elements that you have to be incredibly respectful about in terms of certain characters."
The Lady is available to watch on ITVX now.

Another series based on a true story comes from Channel 4's Dirty Business, starring Harry Potter's David Thewlis and Line of Duty's Jason Watkins.
Set in Oxfordshire, the show follows two unlikely detectives, neighbours Ash and Peter, who notice the fish in their local river are dying. When they contact their local water company, something feels off about its evasive response, sparking an investigation that is still ongoing today.
This one is definitely worth tuning in if you were a fan of ITV's Mr Bates vs the Post Office, which sparked widespread awareness of the injustice faced by sub-postmasters who were wrongly prosecuted.
Following that show's impact, which even led to government legislation to exonerate victims, Dirty Business could be the next series to captivate audiences and spark national attention.
Dirty Business lands on Channel 4 on Monday 23 February.

The second instalment of Bridgerton season four graces our screens this week, concluding the Cinderella-style love story of Benedict Bridgerton and Sophie Baek (read our full review of part one here).
The last instalment ended on a cliffhanger when, after a steamy moment on the stairs (if you know, you know), Benedict asked a flustered Sophie to be his mistress. Will she take him up on the offer or betray her heart in order to maintain her dignity? I can't wait to find out.
Bridgerton Season 4: Part 2 lands on Netflix on Thursday 26 February.
