Britain has produced dozens of sitcoms over the years, but none sit in the hearts of the public quite like 'Allo 'Allo, which focused on the life of a French café owner during the German occupation of France in World War II.

The show starred the likes of Gorden Kaye, Carmen Silvera, Francesca Gonshaw and Vicki Michelle, the latter of whom played Yvette Carte-Blanche, the head waitress at the café.

Vicki was one of the hearts of the show, and away from the popular 80s sitcom, the actress is also known for her roles in Noel's House Party, Emmerdale, The Callback Queen and Silent Hours. The star also won over a new set of fans in 2014 when she appeared on I'm a Celebrity. The actress ended up being the fourth contestant of the series to be voted off.

Vicki isn't the only star in her family, as her mother, Shirley, was also an actress, while her younger sister, Ann, has also followed in their late mother's footsteps.

Ann Michelle

Born two years after her older sister, Ann studied at the Aida Foster stage school, and she made her screen debut in 1968 as a participant in the pseudo-documentary Love in Our Time. Since then, the star has racked up appearances in Psychomania, House of Whipcord, Young Lady Chatterley and Levkas Man.

It was Ann who first got Vicki interested in acting, with the star initially wanting to be a ballet dancer. Speaking to On, ahead of appearance in a pantomime version of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Vicki said: "I did acting at school, but then my sister… I've got three sisters, one of my sisters went to Aida Foster stage school.

Vicki only became an actress because of her younger sister

"I stayed on and did my A-levels, but then my father said to me, 'I've given your sister this opportunity, would you like to do the same?' And I said, 'Yes please dad,' so I did that and a secretarial course so I'd have something to fall back on. We did dancing, and acting and singing, and we went for castings, and it snowballed from there."

Ann and Vicki have previously acted together, with the pair both appearing in 1972's Virgin Witch as a pair of sisters who are unwittingly entered into a witch's coven. Despite acting appearing together, neither Vicki nor Ann have fond memories of the sexploitation film.

Ann has since stepped away from acting

Vicki refuses to list it on her website, while Ann claims that the film is an "experience she doesn't want to remember". Reportedly, the pair faced low pay while on set and had been pressured into additional scenes with nudity.

Ann has since stepped away from acting, with her final credit being 2006's All in the Game. The star is now a director of the Trading Faces celebrity agency and is married to the former speedway racer, Richard May.
