The BBC's hit drama, This Life, is returning to screens for a special showing 30 years after it first aired. The landmark series, which starred Daniela Nardini (Waterloo Road), Andrew Lincoln (The Walking Dead), Jack Davenport (The Morning Show), Amita Dhiri (The Bill) and Jason Hughes (Midsomer Murders), aired for two seasons between 1996 and 1997, before returning with an 80-minute special in 2006.
Created by Amy Jenkins (The Crown), the drama follows the lives of a group of lawyers sharing a house in south London.
The era-defining, cult series was praised for its authentic portrayal of young adulthood in 1990s Britain and captured the hedonistic spirit of the decade through the alcohol and drug-filled lives of a group of lawyers.

What is This Life about?
The drama centres on five lawyers striving for success while navigating their chaotic personal lives. The story focuses on the group's friendships and relationships as they embark on their adult lives while sharing a flat in South London.
The synopsis, according to producers World Productions, reads: "Across the two series, we get to meet the full-of-himself Miles (Jack Davenport), the loud but troubled Anna (Daniela Nardini), Milly (Amita Dhiri), the control-freak and the unsure Egg (Andrew Lincoln). Add in the upbeat Warren (Jason Hughes), who is gay but doesn't want his parents to know, and the confused and bisexual Ferdy (Ramon Tikaram), and you have a melting pot of emotions and stories that are as captivating to watch as they were when the show was first broadcast."
In 2006, the core cast reprised their roles for an 80-minute special, This Life + 10, which picked up ten years later and saw the original five housemates reunite for Ferdy's funeral.
What have viewers said about the show?
The drama has been hailed by viewers as "nostalgic" and "one of the greatest TV series of all time".
In an online review, one person wrote: "This is one of the most addictive, amusing and involving TV series I have seen," while another added: "This must be, by far, the best television show ever made... its handheld camera approach makes it more realistic, and the storylines are very believable."
A third viewer described the drama as 'addictive," adding: "A near-perfect study of life's transitional period between careless partying and responsible adulthood."
How to watch This Life
This Life will air on BBC Four at 10.20pm on Wednesday 18 March, with both seasons one and two and the +10 year reunion special available on iPlayer after the broadcast.
