Bradley Walsh has been cast in the murder mystery show, Whodunnit [Unrehearsed] 4, which returns to London's Park Theatre this May.

The TV presenter joins a seriously stacked cast, which includes Line of Duty star Adrian Dunbar and Hollywood stars Benedict Cumberbatch, Gillian Anderson, Simon Pegg and Emma Thompson.

The parody whodunnit, penned by Jez Bond and Mark Cameron, sees a different celebrity actor take on the central role of the Sheriff without any rehearsals, armed only with an earpiece feeding them lines.

What is Whodunnit [Unrehearsed]?

The fundraising event, which first began in 2019, has attracted major stars over the years, with Sanjeev Bhaskar, Hugh Bonneville, Jim Broadbent and Les Dennis returning for a one-off show this year.

The show promises "murder, mayhem and a touch of musical mischief," with this year's run being the theatre's "most ambitious yet".

The description reads: "Welcome to Graveside, a dusty frontier town where the saloon and the general store look suspiciously similar, gold fever is running high, and (hobby) horses roam free. There's stolen treasure, suspicious strangers, and a Reverend who may not practice what he preaches.

"Each performance, a different celebrity becomes the new Sheriff in town – completely unrehearsed, armed only with an earpiece and their wits. And yes, Sir Ian McKellen returns to lend his voice to the chaos."

Jez Bond, co-writer and director, and Park Theatre's Artistic Director said that they never reveal which celebrity is performing on which night. "The surprise is part of the fun," he said in a statement. "Book a ticket and you're guaranteed someone extraordinary — a national treasure, a comedy icon or a stage legend — stepping into the boots of the Sheriff and flying by the seat of their chaps.

"Every performance is different, gloriously unpredictable, and every single one helps support Park Theatre. It's high-wire theatre with a serious purpose behind it — and that's exactly what makes it so thrilling."
