Disney+ has released a first look at the upcoming crime thriller, Furious – and it sounds like a must-watch for Killing Eve fans.
The eight-part Hulu Original series follows FBI agent Alice Black, who becomes obsessed with hunting down a calculating female serial killer. But as their lives become entwined, Alice realises the pair might have more in common than she first thought.
Just like the BBC's smash hit spy thriller, Killing Eve, Furious promises a twisty, obsession-fuelled cat-and-mouse chase between two seemingly opposing women with an unexpected connection.
Intrigued? Here is everything we know so far.
What is Furious about?
Created by Elizabeth Meriwether (New Girl, The Dropout), Furious follows an FBI agent, Alice Black (Emmy Rossum) as she tracks down a "mysterious and calculating" female serial killer.
The synopsis continues: "Both walk their own paths toward justice, and as their lives start to intertwine, the line between right and wrong begins to blur."
Viewers can expect a "huge twist" at the end of the series, according to show creator Elizabeth Meriwether. "I genuinely want people to be on the edge of their seat," she told Entertainment Weekly. "I want people to be constantly surprised and uncomfortable in a fun, interesting way. I just want it to be a rip-roaring good time for people."
Meanwhile, leading star and executive producer Emmy Rossum added: "I think it's interesting to have a crime thriller where the two female superpowers in the dual lead roles are actually more similar than they are different."
Who stars in Furious?
The series stars Emmy Rossum (Shameless) and Lola Petticrew (Say Nothing) as FBI agent Alice Black and serial killer Catherine, respectively.
Also starring in the series are Scoot McNairy (Narcos: Mexico), Quincy Tyler Bernstine (Power) and Jake Lacy (The White Lotus).
How to watch Furious
Furious will premiere with its first three episodes on 27 July on Hulu in the U.S. and Disney+ in the UK and internationally. New episodes will be released weekly.
