Beloved Britain's Got Talent star Susan Boyle celebrated turning 65 years old on April Fool's Day and appeared completely different to the woman who shocked the judges on the UK talent competition 17 years ago.
Born on 1 April 1961, the Scottish singer soared to fame when she delivered a surprising rendition of 'I Dreamed A Dream' from the West End show, Les Misérables. She became a global household name and underwent a significant transformation as her star rose.
The star keeps her hundreds of thousands of Instagram followers in the loop as she shares updates from her low-key, yet very lavish life, jetsetting to Rome, attending Wimbledon and recording in the studio.
Over recent months, fans have been mesmerised by the singer's appearance and her transformation as she dyed her hair from a deep brunette to a caramel blonde, with many claiming it made her look "years younger".
As she took one step closer to 70, Susan seemed to be ageing in reverse and was worlds away from the curly-haired 47-year-old hopeful who graced British TV screens in 2009.
Underneath pictures on her Instagram profile, fans posted things like: "Susan, you look awesome, your new colour is perfect on you, took some years away!" and "You have such a beautiful glow lately. Your hair colour looks fabulous on you as well as your style!"
"Susan, you are looking great. Can’t wait to see your surprises for this year. I love you!," another fan posted underneath a picture of the star wearing a charity sports jersey.
'Greatest Living Britons'
Dubbed one of the 'Greatest Living Britons' by Hollywood actor and Kylie Jenner's boyfriend, Timothée Chalamet, Susan has been quietly enjoying her fame for almost two decades.
Despite having sold more than 19 million records and supposedly having more than £22 million to her name, the star chose to remain somewhat ordinary and lives in a humble home in Blackburn with her two cats.
She addressed Timothée's comments in an Instagram post and said: "This has been so incredibly touching to read. I’m very flattered, @tchalamet. Those early days were quite something, and to know that moment meant something to you all these years on truly humbles me.
"We all start somewhere, with a dream and a bit of hope, don’t we? We should all dream big! I wish you every success as you continue to dream your own dream. Thank you for your kindness and for remembering that moment so fondly."
Ten years after finding fame, the singer revealed how she was handling the continued attention during an interview with The Sun. She told them at the time: "I’m managing things a lot better now. It was a slow process. Everything is with me.
"But I’m coping inside a lot better now, and I’m ready, more than ready, for what’s coming."
