Ronnie Wood's ex-wife, Jo Wood, shared an insight into her lavish diet and exercise routine and revealed the one meal she skips to maintain a healthy lifestyle following her Crohn's Disease diagnosis.
The 71-year-old TV personality, who rose to fame after she married the Rolling Stones guitarist, opened up about her eating habits in her later life and explained why she likes to eat strictly "clean and fresh" foods.
Spending north of "£80 to £100" on organic produce, she said she always had her fridge stocked with vegetables and fresh fruit to help her stay on track and avoid snacking on unhealthy items.
Among the details of her daily meal plans, the mum-of-four shared that she usually skips breakfast and holds off on eating until midday, when she enjoys a "simple but delicious" lunch of "banana mashed on good organic bread with a drizzle of olive oil and a sprinkle of cinnamon".
She revealed she alternates this meal between her banana creation and a portion of "kefir with honey and banana".
Jo told Bella how she starts her mornings each day and said: "I always start with a matcha latte or a decaf latte, blended with a stack of my favourite powders: Lion's Mane, Turkey Tail, Astragalus, He Shou Wu, Maca and Reishi."
She went on to explain what she has for dinner and snacks and shared: "'My go-to snack is seaweed strips, apples or pears. Dinner tends to be something clean and fresh, like wild-caught cod with a crisp cucumber salad. Afterwards, I might have half a bar of Green & Black's chocolate."
Jo's Crohn's battle
In 2005, the star revealed she had been diagnosed with Crohn's Disease, a chronic, lifelong inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) that causes inflammation along the digestive tract and the small intestine.
After visiting a herbalist, she decided to maintain a mostly organic diet and cut out all processed foods to help relieve symptoms.
Jo spoke to The Guardian about her health issues and said: "They put me on steroids and you get all bloated and your skin gets awful. All the time I was thinking that I hadn't got this disease brought on by stress."
When she announced her diagnosis publicly, she received letters from fans who shared their stories with her, and amongst the pile, a herbalist promised to help her regain control of her life.
"I'd been on the steroids two years by then, and I thought, 'I'm going to see this guy. These steroids are taking my soul away,'" she told the newspaper. Jo explained he told her to eat "a very basic organic diet of fish and steamed vegetables".
A Rolling Stones marriage
Jo's life was catapulted into the limelight when she tied the knot with rock star Ronnie, now 78, whom she met in 1977. The couple share two children, Leah and Tyrone, and Ronnie adopted Jo's son, Jamie, from her previous relationship.
The couple wed on 2 January 1985, in Gerrards Cross, Buckinghamshire, during a high-profile ceremony that was attended by many of the biggest musicians at the time.
After 24 years of marriage, Ronnie admitted to adultery and having an affair with Ekaterina Ivanova. Jo and the rock star filed for divorce, with proceedings being finalised in 2009.
