What is something that makes your skin crawl? I’m not talking about the obvious here - spiders, nails on a chalkboard, people chewing loudly - but something oddly specific to you. A niche of sorts.

I ask because TikTok wants to know. A new trend has emerged from the depths of the algorithm, prompting users to list their ‘top 5 horror movies’ be them memories, places, people and trends. So far, the phrase has racked up over one million hashtag uses on the platform.

The concept certainly set my mind racing, with unwanted memories of dodgy dates, falling flat on my face and ripping my favourite pair of vintage Levi's during a meeting, and putting in an interview request with a famous designer who passed away ten years earlier arising.

As for the rest of Gen Z, popular ‘horror movie’ (or 'horror story') options include ‘not being tanned,’ ‘working a 9-5,’ ‘bad coffee’’ and ‘being told no.' However these seemed pretty tame for the ever-chaotic H! Fashion team. So, I put the question to the girls - what are your personal horror movies? From banana phobias to public pimple patches, here’s what they said.

"Ok here goes. Clean girl aesthetic. Beige. Getting up before 9am. All sports. Warm white wine. Stilettos. Slicked-back buns (sorry young people). Loading the dishwasher."

Molly Saunders, Creative Lead

"Here's the list - an all pink party theme. The train getting stuck in a tunnel. A pea dip as a protein substitute to guacamole. Fluffy socks outside the house. Pimple patches in the wild - just sleep in them. Organised karaoke."

"Coriander. Tequila shots. Football hooligans (specifically Chelsea fans). People blowing vape smoke in my face in the street. Venlafaxine withdrawal. Then, inspired by my upbringing - the 'rich mom' aesthetic (skinny jeans, riding boots, fitted blazers etc). Pretentious Oxford boys. Signet rings. Parallel parking."

"There are plenty of things I can't get on board with: bananas (how anyone enjoys the smell and texture is beyond me), low-rise anything (skirts and trousers should be sat firmly above the hips in my personal opinion), heavy metal, which leads me on to mosh pits - just why? Cats. No animal or human in this world can beat dogs. Ironing - say no more."
