We've made it through January! Aka the month of the year that feels 100 days long. Plus, fun fact, February 6 was the final day that the sun set before 5pm, until October 25 - how exciting!

What's more, there's plenty of fabulous fashion to keep us busy before February finishes and spring begins. Fashion's 'big four' weeks of New York, London, Milan and Paris kicks off on the 11th in the Big Apple, Valentine's Day (or Galentine's Day) is the perfect excuse to dress up and celebrate love with your nearest and dearest, and the Oscars will see the biggest names in the arts dressed to the nines in iconic red carpet attire.

Whether you're simply looking for a winter wardrobe update as a form of retail therapy, are looking for sophisticated basics to carry you from this season and beyond, or are heading to fashion week and on the hunt for some trend-led pieces with the hopes of getting papped (aren't we all?), here are some new-in, versatile pieces to add to your wardrobe. And most importantly, they won't break the bank.

Pale Yellow Hand Finished Button Detail Jacket

    Mint Velvet

The elegance of this jacket is unrivalled. The soft yellow hue, double-breasted asymmetrical fastening, and the gorgeous neckline, which looks equally as elegant with the matching scarf.

    Valley Slingback Kitten Heels

    Public Desire

I wore these cutesy kitten heels to a party this month, and when I told people how much they cost, they were shocked. Polka dots are so on-trend, and this pair has all the vintage Dior vibes, without the price tag.

    Flowing shirt with snap buttons

    Massimo Dutti

As far as button-up shirts go, this is by far the coolest of the season. I love the vibrant red hue, with snap buttons for easy fastening, finished with an asymmetrical high neck. The classic 'shirt and jeans' dress code just got a major upgrade.

Tansy Brown Pin Dot Print Skirt

    Kitri

Soft pink and polka dots = two of this season's major trends. The devil is in the details with this piece. I love the scalloped edge and delicate bow, giving that 'underwear is outerwear' vibe, but in the most demure way possible.

    Mason Pant in Sugar

    Reformation

Bored of jeans? understandable. A good quality pair of cream trousers is a great alternative. As versatile as jeans but slightly more elevated, they're perfect for pairing with your favourite knit and trainers during the day, or a lace cami top and thong heels for the evening.

Apricity Colourful Gem Chunky Gold Earrings

    One Wild One

These earrings are the epitome of everyday glam. The colourful gems add interest, whilst the 14k gold-plated base and clear stones keep them super refined.

    Black Gold Buckle Midi Dress

    River Island

This dress could have come straight from a Tove runway show. The ruched waist, chunky gold buckle, high-neck silhouette and floaty half-sleeves are all incredibly flattering design accents that look seriously chic.

Barrel mid rise jean in textured stripe in vintage blue

    Topshop

In my opinion, everybody needs a pair of striped jeans in their wardrobe. A little more fun and statementy than the average denim pair, yet still elegant and totally versatile. I love this barrel silhouette pair from Topshop, with belt loops and a slightly distressed finish.

    Suzie in Truffle Brown

    Bobbies

'Comfort is key' is my mantra when it comes to footwear. I'm a huge ballet flats fan, but something that feels a little more dressed up, a block heel is the way to go. This gorgeous suede pair is the perfect combination of ballet pump and a Mary-Jane - versatile and effortlessly chic.

    Leggings with Belt Loops

    Emello

If, like me, having a belt to hoist your trousers up and cinch the waist is preferred, these leggings from Emello are revolutionary. The same sculpting silhouette as the classic legging, but with a high waist and belt loops for extra security. Obsessed.
