Major mother-daughter moment!

Nicole Kidman just stepped out with her daughter Sunday Rose Kidman Urban and we are obsessed with both of their looks. Nicole's showstopping sequinned red Chanel gown is a contender for our best look so far...

Celebration of the body is the interpretation so far

The celebs so far are leaning into the 'Costume is Art'' theme with figure-hugging ‘fits.

Before the event, curator Andrew Bolton said the theme navigates the concept of the dressed body. "The dressed body is front and centre in every gallery you come across. Even the nude is never naked. It’s always inscribed with cultural values and ideas.”

Stars including Nicole Kidman, Cara Delevingne, Zuri Hall and Ashley Graham to name a few, have opted for silhouettes that sculpt the body.

Hands up for Léna Mahfouf!

Léna Mahfouf (also known as Léna Situations) has definitely showcased the most risqué look so far. She opted for a daring sculpted hand-shaped bralette from Burc Akyol, paired with a low-cut ruched maxi skirt.

Is Zoë Kravitz hiding her engagement ring?

After rumours recently circulated that the actress is engaged to British heartthrob Harry Styles, she has arrived on the Met Gala red carpet with her left hand strategically placed in her pocket and her right one exposed. We respect the commitment to keeping things under wraps for now...

Gwendoline Christie just carried a mask of her own face

Best accessory of the night so far goes to Gwendoline Christie! Not only did the actress wear an outfit designed by her own husband, which paid homage to artist John Singer Sargent, surrealist photographer Madame Yevonde, and poet Ira Cohen, but she also carried a mask of her own face created by British YBA artist Gillian Wearing. Talk about leaning into a theme.

Sabrina Carpenter just revealed her favourite movie!

As if we didn't think we could love her even more, Sabrina Carpenter just responded to the question of what her favourite movie is with... Shrek 2. As a Shrek fanatic myself, she just became my favourite human in the whole world. Oh, and this evening she's wearing Dior by Jonathan Anderson and her dress is made from film reel from the 1954 film Sabrina - secondary information to the Shrek reveal if you ask me...

Bare feet on the red carpet!

Denial is a River singer Doechii has taken a leaf out of Kristen Stewart's book and eschewed any form of footwear on the red carpet, with her feet adorned with cascading anklets. After the shoeless shoes we spotted in Chanel's Resort 2027 collection, I wouldn't be surprised if this trend takes off...

Kim Kardashian wears 1960s pop artist Allen Jones

Kim K wore a painted bodice by British pop artist Allen Jones, from one of his 1960s body pieces. She may have had controversial Met looks in the past (we're looking at you, Marylin Monroe dress), but this one absolutely nailed the 'Fashion Is Art' theme.

Beyoncé returns and WOW!

After a 10-year hiatus, Beyoncé stepped out on the red carpet in the most dramatic custom look by Olivier Rousteing.

The former Balmain creative director and the legendary singer have worked together significantly in the past, most notably for her Renaissance tour of 2023 and her Coachella performance in 2018. We haven't heard much from Olivier since he left Balmain in 2025 after 14 years - could this be a soft launch of something new to come?
