Savannah Guthrie's mom, Nancy Guthrie, was reported missing on February 1. The 84-year-old was last seen near her home in Tucson, Arizona on Saturday, January 31. The Pima County Sheriff Department suspects foul play, and revealed that she was likely taken from her home "against her will."

Authorities discovered blood and signs of forced entry at her residence, which is now being treated as a crime scene. Nancy's single-story brick home has been her residence for 50 years, and it is also the childhood home where Savannah grew up alongside her parents, Charles and Nancy, her brother Camron, and her sister Annie.

Original purchase

Savannah was born in Melbourne, Australia, in 1971, where she was raised for the first four years of her life. The family moved back to the State in 1975 and purchased their five-bedroom, 4.5-bath Tucson home for $85,000 at the time.

The property was originally built in 1969 and is located in the Catalina Foothills neighborhood. The 3,776-square foot home is located on an acre of arid land.

In 1988, when the TODAY Show anchor was 16 years old, her father, Charles, passed away following a heart attack. However, the family remained in their residence, and Nancy continued to live there after her children flew the nest.

The house is now estimated to be valued around $1.1 million.

Up for sale

According to property records, Nancy attempted to sell the home in 2007 for $950,00 and lowered the asking price to $875,000 in the summer of that year. However the abode was taken off the market in October 2007.

Family trips

Savannah often flew back home with her husband, Mike Feldman, and their two children, Vale and Charley, to visit Nancy. The family would travel to Tucson, Arizona, at least twice a year. Last year, the NBC star recorded a special segment for the TODAY Show, where she revisited her hometown.

No street lamps

News outlets have described the area as a "friendly neighborhood," known for being "safe and quiet." However, it reportedly lacks street lighting, making it very dark at night.

Co-star visit

In March 2024, Savannah' co-host, Craig Melvin, visited her family home. "This is a @craigmelvinnbc appreciation post. This lovely human took time out on his busy visit to my hometown of Tucson, AZ (where he is spending his weekend and personal time supporting @colorectalcanceralliance in honor of his beloved brother Lawrence) to visit my mom and give her a hug. This is friendship and love in action," penned Savannah on Instagram.
