Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, as a former member of the British royal family, has lived in an array of residences across his adult life, from his long-standing Windsor home where he paid peppercorn rent to his most recent house on the Sandringham Estate.

Currently, police searches are being conducted at Royal Lodge, where he lived in Windsor, and Wood Farm, following his arrest on the morning of Thursday, 19 February. Scroll down to learn more about the homes that the younger brother of King Charles and Princess Anne has inhabited in his adult years…

Sunninghill Park, Ascot

Andrew's wedding gift from the late Queen Elizabeth II, when he and his ex-wife Sarah married in 1986, Sunninghill Park was the former prince's manor house near Ascot, and it boasted a whopping 12 bedrooms.

The estate has an extensive history, with the first royal house commissioned there in 1511 intended for Queen Mary I by her father King Henry VIII, but was bought from the royal family by the 1600s.

It was expanded during the Second World War, when it hosted the American Ninth Air Force, and was brought back into the family in 1945, intended for the late Queen  and her husband, Prince Philip.

However, when it burned down on 30 August 1947, the couple moved into Windlesham Moor instead. Twenty years later, the monarch bought the site and rebuilt a home there for Andrew and Sarah, where they raised their two daughters Beatrice and Eugenie.

Royal Lodge, Windsor

Royal Lodge was the home of Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and Sarah Ferguson following their divorce, until their eviction towards the end of 2025. This Grade-II listed property had belonged to Queen Elizabeth, The Queen Mother until her death in 2002.

Royal Lodge also has an extensive, and varied, past, dating back to 1662. It sits on 21 acres of grounds, and it sports an array of incredible features including a conservatory, terrace and a separate garden cottage, known as Y Bwythyn Bach, that was gifted to the family by the people of Wales and reportedly later renovated by Princess Beatrice.

At the beginning of February 2025, Andrew was pictured leaving the property for the last time, as he was moved to the Sandringham Estate.

Wood Farm

Serving as a temporary home for the 66-year-old while his future home on the Sandringham Estate is being renovated, Wood Farm is a five-bedroom home also on the estate that is built in the local Norfolk style, with reddish-brown bricks, large lawns, a stable block and a yard.

It is believed that the five-bedroom property was a favourite of Andrew's late father, Prince Philip, who supposedly used it to pursue some of his quieter hobbies whenever the royals were on the estate, such as reading and watercolour painting.

The father of Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie is set to live on Wood Farm until his future home on the estate, Marsh Farm, is ready for him to move into.
