King Charles' disgraced brother, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, is currently still under suspicion of misconduct in public office, after being arrested last month. After initially spending time in Wood Farm, Andrew has now permanently moved into Marsh Farm.
Ahead of the move, renovation works were seen taking place at the five-bedroom property, including the addition of a new security fence and installation of Sky TV. This was swiftly followed by the arrival of carpet fitters. HELLO! understands that workmen from family-run company Linney Cooper, which holds a Royal Warrant, were seen at Marsh Farm in Wolferton on the Sandringham estate, ahead of the move.
The luxury company was set up in 1964, and they have held two Royal Warrants since 2002. They have supplied and installed flooring at a huge number of royal residences, including Buckingham Palace, Windsor Castle, Kensington Palace, Frogmore House and Balmoral. The company was chosen to install the carpets at Windsor Castle after the fire in 1992, and also replicated eight of the State Rooms and the Picture Gallery at Buckingham Palace. Andrew himself will be used to this level of luxury flooring as they supplied the carpets at Royal Lodge in Windsor, which is the residence that he moved out of at the start of February.
A van from Next Level Flooring Solutions, based in nearby King's Lynn, which supplies laminate and hardwood flooring, was also spotted at the property on Tuesday. The company has a five-star reputation and 1,400 followers on Facebook. According to Companies House, the business was started in 2021.
Renovations at Marsh Farm
The previously unoccupied home has had to be overhauled to make it suitable for Andrew. There have been changes externally and internally to make it ready for the former royal. Workmen have been pictured on site installing CCTV and a six-foot fence around the perimeter, and this will be to maximise the privacy that the King's brother can get on this property, which is surprisingly close to a public road – nothing like the secluded spot he once lived in. Last year, a no-fly zone around Sandringham was extended to include Marsh Farm, another level of security afforded to Andrew.
It's not all plain sailing at the property, though, as the road leading up to the house is filled with pesky potholes, and the front lawn has been seen with molehills, with pest control vans being spotted on site too.
Andrew Mountbatten Windsor's temporary home
Before the move, Andrew stayed at Wood Farm. His temporary location held sentimental value for Andrew and other royals as it was the retirement property of his late father, Prince Philip. However, it could also hold painful memories as it is where his ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson, stayed during the Christmas holidays in 1992 amid their divorce.
