The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are soon to be the parents of a seven-year-old as their eldest, Prince Archie, turns seven on the 6 May. Last year, mom Meghan Markle thanked friends and family publicly for coming to his party, but the location wasn't revealed. However, we think their incredible $29m mansion in Montecito is the perfect party paradise - and here's why.
Incredible facilities
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's dream home has all of the features you'd expect from a Montecito mansion - think sweeping driveway, epic outdoor pool, wine cellar and luxury bedroom terrace. A kids' party here would benefit from the mammoth children's playpark they have within the grounds, featuring coloured climbing frames complete with three slides, a lookout tower and a mini climbing wall. The whole area has been fitted with a spongy green tarmac to make it safe for little ones to play.
Maximum privacy
Living in a celebrity hotspot, the couple may choose to keep Archie's birthday celebrations more lowkey to avoid any intrusion. Therefore, holding it at their private residence where they can monitor who comes in and out, would be a risk-free way of marking the occasion.
Fair weather
May is the month when the Montecito climate has an uptick and a spell of sunshine could mean the perfect opportunity to make the most of their seemingly endless garden. We know that both Archie and Lilibet are big fans of the great outdoors, and we often see Instagram updates of their time in the garden, doing things like gardening, tending to the chickens and picking fruit.
Harry's candid parenthood comments
While Prince Harry is every inch the doting dad in social media updates, he too has wobbles just like the rest of humanity and he's admitted to feeling a sense of "disconnection" in the days after welcoming his first child, Archie.
Speaking during a solo visit to a men’s mental health charity in Melbourne on the second day of the Sussexes' Australian tour, he offered a deeply personal insight into his own experience as a new father. "Certainly, I felt a disconnection because my wife was the one creating life, and I was there to witness it," Harry told the audience. He then added: "Those days, weeks, after birth are a real struggle."
Imparting words of wisdom, he said: "I think the biggest tip that I was given, actually, for my therapist in the UK was just be aware of how you feel once the baby is born." Prince Harry has been a huge advocate for men's mental health issues and his honest chat will resonate with many.
