Jennifer Grey celebrated her 66th birthday on March 26 — and it's safe to say she looks amazing!
Tracy Pollan paid tribute to her longtime friend on Instagram by sharing a solo picture of Jennifer posing in a black bikini with shades, loose waves, and straw hat by the horizon.
Her overlaid text read: "I love celebrating you Jennifer Grey." Jennifer has a refreshing take on aging and doesn't shy away from the topic.
She expressed to People: "I really don't give too much weight to chronological age, even though the world wants to tell you it means something. But to me, it's as abstract and random as anything, because I know a million people who are very young who behave like they're ancient."
Jennifer takes inspiration from her grandmother who showed her that age is just a number.
She continued: "I know my grandmother, who was 93 when she died, was dancing and making art and walking and living independently. I think that it's all about how you live, not how long you live."
How Jennifer has evolved over the years
With age comes wisdom and Jennifer has embraced her new decade with her arms wide open, stating: "Your self-esteem shouldn't be attached to being perfect or judged. What if we all just did what makes us happy?"
She added: "I think one of the things I've understood as I've gotten older is how little I care what other people think of me. What I’m mostly concerned about is how I feel about myself."
Jennifer's advice on aging
Jennifer knows that aging is a part of life and she lives in the present moment without dwelling on the past.
She shared with Good Housekeeping: "I would bet my life on the fact that a woman’s second half of her life is the best half. At this point, you have the experience of knowing that things go pear-shaped, and that you survive."
Jennifer added: "Also, you have a sense of how much time you want to spend thinking about yourself, spending money on yourself, working on yourself... it’s a lot of self! I don’t want to be spending time chasing a part of my life that’s gone."
Jennifer's diet
Jennifer eats mostly healthy but she's a big foodie and allows herself the space to give into cravings.
She shared: "My only dietary requirement is that I only eat food that I look forward to eating. For me, that means lot of healthy food like delicious salads and fish, but also pastas. For snacks, I always have hardboiled eggs, yogurt, berries, almond butter, avocados, and bread of course," per New Beauty.
Jennifer added: "Lately I've become obsessed with baking sourdough bread like everyone else since COVID. I make it every other day so we always have this fresh loaf, and then I slather it with butter and jam or cheese. I recently made my first homemade plum jam. I don’t like to deny myself when it comes to food. To me, food is nourishment and food is to be enjoyed. It’s just about balance."
