As he moves to Sandringham amid the scandal, yet another change has been revealed for his ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson. It has been disclosed that the project closest to Sarah's heart, her charity Sarah's Trust, which she set up in 2020, inspired by her role as a "new grandmother", would be closing "for the foreseeable future". Yes, he has been kicked out of his home and stripped of his royal style, titles, and honours. But should the King, and government, go one step further and oust him from the line of succession?

Last meeting

Aga Khan is the hereditary title of the spiritual leader and Imām of the Nizari Ismāʿīli Shias, a branch of Islam with approximately 12–15 million followers worldwide.

The King last received the Aga Khan, then Prince Rahim, at Buckingham Palace in July 2023, in his capacity as a member of the Aga Khan Development Network and Aga Khan Foundation, shared Buckingham Palace.

The British monarchy has a long-standing royal tradition of bestowing the title "His Highness" on the Aga Khan, and on 10th February 2025, the King granted the Aga Khan heir, Prince Rahim, the title “His Highness” after the passing of his father, Prince Karim, at the age of 88.

The King also spoke privately to the Aga Khan to share condolences on the death of His Highness’s father, Prince Karim Al-Hussaini, at the age of 88.
