Princess Ines of Sweden is eighth in line to the throne

The one-year-old, whose full name is Princess Ines Marie Lilian Silvia, Duchess of Västerbotten was born on 7 February 2025 at Danderyd Hospital in Stockholm, and is eighth in line to the throne.

She does not hold the HRH title in her name, following the King's decision in 2019 to limit titles within the royal household. Carl Philip and Sofia's children, as well as Princess Madeleine and Chris O'Neill's children, would not be styled HRH as they are not expected to carry out royal duties when they are adults.

On Friday, 13 June, Princess Ines was christened at the Drottningholm Palace Chapel, one a day that served as double celebration for the couple, as it was also their tenth wedding anniversary.

As tradition, Princess Ines wore the royal christening gown, which has been in use since the baptism of Prince Gustaf Adolf, Duke of Västerbotten in 1906.

The ceremony was attended by many members of the Swedish royal family, including King Carl XVI Gustaf, Queen Silvia, Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel with their children, Princess Estelle, 13, and Prince Oscar, nine.

Princess Estelle was one of the five people chosen to be Ines' godparents, alongside some of her parents' close friends.
