The Prince of Wales carried out a star-studded investiture ceremony on Wednesday morning, awarding honours to actor Warwick Davis and footballer Alex Greenwood. William, 43, was seen shaking hands with Warwick, who starred in Harry Potter and Star Wars, during the occasion at Windsor Castle

During the ceremony, William bent down so the pair were at eye level. Speaking after the event, Davis - who was born with a rare form of dwarfism called Spondyloepiphyseal dysplasia congenita - said the Prince of Wales' considerate gesture meant a lot to him. "It was lovely the way he came down to my level instead of standing and looking down at me," he revealed.

Warwick was accompanied by his children Annabelle, 28, and Harrison, 21, as well as two mystery companions, one of whom is thought to have been his mystery girlfriend, affectionately nicknamed 'Sponge'

The star featured in King Charles's New Year's Honours list for 2026, alongside Idris Elba and Cynthia Erivo. He was made an OBE on Wednesday, while Alex was awarded an MBE.

The honours range from Knighthoods, Damehoods, as well as Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE), Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE), and Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE).

He previously received the Bafta Fellowship, saying at the time: "This is the best thing that’s ever happened to me and I’ve been in Star Wars." He dedicated the award to his wife, Samantha, who died in 2024.

Warwick was born with an extremely rare form of dwarfism called spondyloepiphyseal dysplasia congenita (SED).

Warwick was accompanied by his children, who are following in his showbiz footsteps. Like his dad, Harrison has a Star Wars credit to his name thanks to his role in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, in 2019, and when he was a child, he appeared in the TV show, Dwarves Assemble.

His daughter Annabelle, meanwhile, boasts credits including The Dumping Ground and Hollyoaks, as well as a part in Disney+ Willow, a reboot of the film where her parents met and made her dad a household name.

The Prince of Wales has a busy week lined up, having attended the Commonwealth Day service on Monday with King Charles, Queen Camilla and his wife, the Princess of Wales.

On Thursday, he will be joining the Princess for a visit to the RNLI Tower Lifeboat Station on the River Thames.
