The countdown is on for Meghan Markle, who in one month will headline a women-only retreat in Sydney, where tickets cost upwards of AU$3,000 (£1,400). However, the PR mogul who is promoting this "ultimate girls' weekend" Down Under, is currently in financial peril, the MailOnline has revealed.

Gemma O'Neill is also the owner of talent management business, Gemmie Agency, which collapsed in November last year with an eye-watering tax bill of AU$543,548 (£289,257). It is believed Gemma is in talks with the creditors after taking her business into voluntary liquidation.

Podcaster Gemma has previously spoken about how excited she is to have the Duchess of Sussex coming to speak at her event. On her podcast, she said: "I can't believe I'm even saying those words. There's no one more shocked than me. I know what you're all thinking, because I'm thinking the same thing. How has Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, this incredible woman, gone from Oprah to talking on stage with just little old me, Gemma in Sydney? I have admired this woman and what she has endured, how she's risen above it, and how she has demonstrated that a woman can be pushed down, and she can still rise."

Meghan is going to be a guest of honour for a 300-person gala dinner at the InterContinental Sydney Coogee Beach, at an event hosted by the Her Best Life podcast, organised by radio star Jackie "O" Henderson's event company, Besties. The discussion she will join is focused on resilience and women's empowerment.

You can even upgrade to a VIP ticket for AU$3,199, which includes a "group table photo" with Meghan and a seat in the front two rows at the gala dinner.

Meghan's husband, Prince Harry, will also be in Australia for the trip, to attend several engagements, details of which are yet to be announced. This will mark their first appearance Down Under since 2018, when they traveled to Australia, Fiji, Tonga and New Zealand.

News of this exciting trip comes after their joint visit to Jordan, for a humanitarian visit alongside the Director-General of the World Health Organisation, Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus. While in the country, they stopped by World Central Kitchen, an organisation which coordinates and deploys food and humanitarian assistance into Gaza and spent time at the Questscope at the Za’atari Refugee Camp, a safe haven for displaced Syrians.

The Sussexes are throwing themselves into philanthropic and business engagements during this ongoing crisis for the royal family back in the UK, with King Charles' brother Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor being stripped of his titles and ousted from his cut-rent Windsor home.

This article has been updated after an earlier version mistakenly suggested Archie had joined the Sussexes on their 2018 trip to Australia.
