The latest royal nuptials appear to be imminent as bride-to-be Lady Marina Windsor shared snaps and clips from her UK island hen do. The granddaughter of the Duke of Kent, who is engaged to Nico Macauley, headed with her "magical hens" to the Isle of Sheppey at the weekend.
In a post on Instagram, Lady Marina, 33, revealed a series of sweet pictures and videos from the sunny British getaway. She could be seen with the group, which saw her younger sister Lady Amelia Windsor, 30, also present, on countryside walks and enjoying drinks at a cosy pub.
Captioning the carousel, which received more than 400 'likes', she wrote: "Heart bursting with love and gratitude for my magical hens and this spectacular weekend." It is currently unclear when the actual wedding will take place or its location, although in 2024 she shared with HELLO! about her love of nature and travel.
The Isle of Sheppey is located off the north coast of Kent and covers an area of 36 square miles, with just 40,000 residents, and is home to beaches, nature reserves and historic towns that make it ideal for a relaxed hen do for Lady Marina. Along with her sister, she is the daughter of George Windsor, Earl of St Andrews and Canadian academic and historian Sylvana Tomaselli.
Moving engagement
According to the Daily Mail, Lady Marina - who sadly lost her grandmother, the Duchess of Kent, last September - is set to wed account executive Nico Macauley, 32, who works for the American IT security firm Zscaler. The couple announced they were engaged on 8 June last year in an adorable selfie shared to social media.
It was a moment that was all the more poignant because it was the date of her grandparents' wedding anniversary. Indeed, the Duke, who is a cousin of the late Queen Elizabeth, married the late Duchess at York Minster in 1961. The latter's funeral at Westminster Cathedral was the final official public appearance of Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and Sarah Ferguson, and it is unclear if they will be present at Lady Marina's upcoming wedding.
Marina smiled in a photo with her husband-to-be while clutching a glass of champagne as she showed off her engagement ring. Her sister Amelia was among the first to comment a "Yippeeee!!", while her cousin Flora Vesterberg - the granddaughter of Princess Alexandra of Kent - wrote "Love you! Happiest news xx."
