Operations at the school of the Prince and Princess of Wales's children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, have changed significantly since their enrollment, as the institution adapted to educating the future British king.

George, 13, first started at Lambrook School in Berkshire in 2022 after his family's move from Kensington Palace to Adelaide Cottage in Windsor. Charlotte, ten, and Louis, seven, were also enrolled as pupils at the co-educational prep school alongside their big brother.

At the time of their relocation to the school near Ascot, Lambrook's headmaster, Jonathan Perry, said: "We are delighted that Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis will be joining us this coming September and very much look forward to welcoming the family, as well as all of our new pupils, to our school community."

Since the arrival of young royals in their midst, many changes have been made to how the school operates, according to Melanie Sanderson, managing editor of the Good Schools Guide

She told HELLO!'s A Right Royal Podcast that the school has become "slightly grander" and that security measures have become more strict to accommodate the trio's royal status.

Melanie revealed: "The reality is that they have got the future King of England and the so-called spares at their school, so of course it has had to have changed."

"I think before they went, it was very much an open campus - if your child had forgotten something at home, you could maybe just pop in, drop it off. But I’ve heard it’s a much more closed situation now, which is totally understandable," the editor continued.

She went on to outline the events and occasions that have changed since the arrival of the royals: "I've also heard that things like the Christmas Carol service and the fairs and all those kinds of things are slightly grander affairs now than they used to be, which is again, reasonable.

"Because you would want to put your best foot forward if you were entertaining the royals."

Prince George's future education

Elsewhere in the podcast, the editor revealed what she felt may be the next steps for the future King in terms of his educational direction.

George is due to finish his four years of preparatory school this year and will start his secondary education in September.

Staying in Berkshire, Prince William attended Eton College, as did his brother, Prince Harry, but it is still unknown as to whether George will follow in his father and uncle's footsteps.

During her chat, Melanie believed that William and Kate could be holding multiple places in a variety of schools as they consider their options.

She said: "Well, for ordinary people, they have to say 'yes' fairly quickly so their children would be accepted. Ordinary people who have been offered places would be accepting those places for secondary schools in the next few weeks.

"I feel as though the Waleses may be holding multiple places at different schools. It sort of feels as though if they had made a definitive decision, somebody would know, and it would be out there."
