Meghan Markle just bent her own golden fashion rule

The Duchess of Sussex broke her golden fashion rule amid her four-day tour of Australia with her husband, the Duke of Sussex.

Despite previously being averse to slipping on a sheer tight during her days in the royal family, Meghan, 44, rocked a pair of tights while stepping out at Swinburne University in Melbourne.

Last year, during an interview with Bloomberg's Emily Chang last August, Meghan said wearing the sheer tights "felt a little bit inauthentic" and that she "hadn't seen pantyhose since movies in the 80s."

She said, while promoting the second half of her With Love, Meghan Netflix show: "Let's be honest, that was not very myself. I hadn't seen pantyhose since movies in the 80s! That felt a little bit inauthentic.

"It was different several years ago, when I couldn't be as vocal, and I had to wear nude pantyhose all the time! 

For her jaunt in Melbourne, Meghan wore the 'Anya' dress from Australian label Friends with Frank, a pair of Manolo Blahnik pumps and tights from Wolford.

Today is Prince Harry and Meghan's last day in Melbourne before they jet off to Sydney, where the As Ever creator is set to feature at a £1,400-per-head 'girls' weekend' retreat organised by women's networking group Her Best Life.

While at the university, Harry and Meghan spoke to students about the dangers of social media and its impact on mental health.

'Meg-stock'

Meghan opened up about being "bullied" online for a decade in a heartfelt moment, as she said: 'For now, ten years, every day for ten years, I have been bullied and attacked. And I was the most trolled person in the entire world. I'm still here."

Guests attending the highly anticipated “retreat event are being asked to pay an additional $330 for the opportunity to secure a group photo with Meghan, as part of a premium VIP upgrade.

The three-day event, already being dubbed “Meg-stock” by attendees, is being held at the five-star InterContinental Coogee Beach hotel from Friday to Sunday, offering a curated blend of luxury, wellness and rare access to the Duchess.
