No matter how old your children get, parents never stop worrying, and that doesn't change when you are royal.

Princess Marie-Chantal of Greece revealed that her fourth child, 21-year-old Prince Odysseas, had a rather unexpected Easter weekend when he fractured his skull.

Fortunately, it was just a minor incident, but it disrupted the Orthodox Easter celebrations that the head of the Greek Royal House and his family planned to enjoy as usual.

Ody, as Prince Odysseas is affectionately known, "had a bad fall and fractured his skull," his mother explained, sharing several photos of herself with her son and her husband after the accident.

The royal continued:  "Thankfully, everything is under control now, but it meant a sudden change of plans... We had to give up our Orthodox Easter with the family and rush to Florence to be by his side and bring him home," the Princess reassured her followers.

What happened?

The Princess also explained exactly what happened to her son: "My sweet Ody had a bad fall and fractured his skull. He's been a trooper, and now he won't be able to fly for a month, so we made the long journey back to London by train. It's not exactly the Easter we had imagined, but I'm so grateful he's safe and well on the mend."

In addition, the Princess wanted to express her gratitude to everyone who had been concerned about her son and to the medical staff who cared for Odysseas. "I am deeply grateful to the wonderful doctors and nurses in Florence who took such good care of him, and especially to his dear friends who looked after him until we arrived. It means so much to me," she wrote alongside photos of the family in Italy during this eventful Easter.

Princess Marie-Chantal also took the opportunity to reflect on motherhood. "Ah, the quiet twists of parenthood, even as they grow up, still tug at your heartstrings in the deepest ways," she wrote alongside her message, which prompted comments about the reactions of her daughter,  Princess Olympia,  Poppy Delevingne, who dated Prince Constantijn, Odysseas's brother,   and Bianca Brandolini, a close friend of the family.

Odysseas of Greece graduated in 2023 from the Dwight School in New York, one of the most prestigious schools in the United States, which opened its doors in 1872 and whose alumni include Paris Hilton and Truman Capote. He and his siblings spent their childhood in London, where he was born and attended Knightsbridge School. In 2017, he and his family began a new chapter in New York, settling in a mansion on the Upper East Side owned by the Millers, the family of Princess Marie-Chantal.

Royal setback

Princess Marie-Chantal informed her followers of this setback a day after the Greek Royal Family won a historic battle. The Greek Council of State ratified that ten members of the former royal family are entitled to Greek citizenship after the surname De Grèce was accepted.

This decision grants Prince Pavlos of Greece and his family all the privileges and obligations stipulated by the Hellenic Republic and the Constitution, including the right to vote and to be elected. This decision, which had already been approved and then suspended, is a victory that the Crown Prince initiated after the death of his father, King Constantine II.
