Ever wondered what it's like to go on tour with royalty? HELLO!'s Royal Editor Emily Nash and our US Royal Correspondent Alex Hurtado spent the week shadowing the King and Queen in Washington D.C., New York City, and rural Virginia.

They've shared their favourite behind-the-scenes photos from their camera roll, giving us an insight into the life of a royal journalist on the road...

HELLO!'s Emily Nash and Alex Hurtado spent the week shadowing the King and Queen in the US on their historic state visit

Before the visit officially kicked off on Monday, I met up with my colleague Emily Nash, HELLO!'s Royal Editor.

After spilling the tea at a cafe, we went for a stroll to the White House and decided to snap a picture by the Washington Monument.

Here I am at the White House following the incredible ceremonial welcome on the South Lawn and educational event at the Tennis Pavilion.

My black-and-white outfit felt very FLOTUS-coded, but I also wanted a royal touch (I am a HELLO! Royal News Correspondent after all), so I brought out my Princess of Wales-approved bag.

I was "in the room where it happened." It was a mission to get to, but after leaving the White House, I collected my ticket for the King's historic address to Congress... it just took an Uber, walking, the U.S. Senate subway and navigating the Capitol Hill tunnels ha.

Sadly no pictures or filming are allowed inside of the chamber, so I took a photo of my ticket, which you better believe I'm saving as a keepsake.
