After Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor's arrest in February, royal experts predicted Beatrice and Eugenie wouldn't be attending many high-profile social events this spring and summer. The prediction appears accurate, with the sisters missing March's Cheltenham Festival and April's Easter Sunday Service at Windsor Castle, and reportedly spurning an invitation to Royal Ascot next month. And while this week's RHS Chelsea Flower Show has already been graced by King Charles, Queen Camilla, Prince Edward and Duchess Sophie, as well as more "minor" royals like Lady Amelia Windsor, Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie, however, are yet to be spotted among the blooms.
The Princesses weren't expected to make an appearance at Chelsea this year – as they did in 2025 (see the Instagram post below) and in both 2016 and 2022 – but is going to ground really the best approach? Maybe they feel it's a way of protecting Andrew and Sarah – out of sight, out of mind and all that. Or maybe they are firm believers in the biblical proverb that "the sins of the parents are visited upon their children"? Yet there is absolutely nothing implicating the York sisters in their father's alleged misdemeanours, so why should they withdraw from the public spotlight?
