The Earl of Snowdon and his girlfriend, Isabelle de la Bruyère, were among the extended members of the royal family at Peter Phillips' wedding as he married NHS nurse, Harriet Sperling.

David Armstrong-Jones, the son of Princess Margaret and photographer Antony Armstrong-Jones, and his partner braved the weather to join the arrivals at All Saints' Church in Kemble, Cirencester, on Saturday.

He was seen wearing a formal morning suit – the highest standard of British formal daytime wear – including classic striped trousers, a black tailcoat, and a waistcoat with a spotted tie.

Isabelle, like the Princess of Wales, chose a stunning peach ensemble with a silky tie waist and clutch, paired with a straw ribboned boater hat.

The Earl was also joined by his younger sister, Lady Sarah Chatto, 61. Lady Sarah opted for a monochrome ensemble, wearing a smart white shirt, flared black midi skirt and matching hat.

His daughter, Lady Margarita, 24, wore a purple jacket to shield from the rain, together with a baby blue skirt.

The Earl, known professionally as David Linley, is the nephew of the late Queen Elizabeth II, while Peter is her eldest grandson. This means they are first cousins, once removed.

A new royal relationship

David, 64, who is the second Earl of Snowdon, began dating Isabelle, 54, in the summer of 2024, but they mainly keep their relationship private.

He is seen less often than working royals, though he did attend the Christmas Day service in Sandringham, alongside his daughter, Lady Margarita.

He has previously made joint public appearances with Isabelle at the Chelsea Flower Show last May, Royal Ascot in June, and the inaugural amfAR gala in London back in October.

David is the honorary chairman of auction house Christie's, where Isabelle once worked as a client advisory and international senior director for the chairman's office across the Middle East.

Since September 2023, she has served as CEO of the Opera Art Gallery. David is also vice president of The King's Foundation charity, and often deputises for his cousin Charles.

The Earl has two children from his previous marriage to Serena Stanhope, Charles Armstrong-Jones and Lady Margarita Armstrong-Jones.

David and Serena separated after 26 years together in 2020.

The royal wedding of the year

King Charles, Queen Camilla, and the Prince and Princess of Wales led the arrivals at All Saints' Church on Saturday for the royal wedding of the year.

Prince William, 43, had missed Peter's first wedding to Autumn Kelly in 2008, so his attendance carried a very special significance.

Bride Harriet looked divine in a white column dress from Emilia Wickstead as she arrived at the quaint country church, with her daughter Georgina, 13, as a bridesmaid alongside Peter's daughter, Savannah and Isla.

The Edinburghs, Princess Royal, and Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie were also present.

The King's nephew Peter split from his first wife Autumn in 2020 after 12 years of marriage and shares custody of their two children.
