Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's European home undergoes transformation

While the Duke and Duchess of Sussex spend most of their time living on their sprawling estate in Montecito, California, along with their two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, the couple also own a beautiful home in Portugal.

According to MailOnline, Harry and Meghan have enlisted the help of designers from Soho House, the members' club, to lead a design overhaul.

The Portuguese residence was reportedly acquired for a staggering £6.3 million in 2023. While we don't know what type of property it is, they do own a mansion in the US that's been created to look like a French chateau, so perhaps they have been drawn to a more traditional style.

Their choice of designers is particularly special as Soho House is where the couple had their first-ever top-secret date. The pair met on 76 Dean Street in 2016, and since then, they have maintained their relationship with the luxury club.

In 2025, Meghan's brand As Ever collaborated with Soho House and the Duchess called it a "full circle" moment. She wrote online: "Talk about a dull circle moment! In my old stomping ground of West Hollywood, with a brand, family and friends that have been part of my life for so long… also a part of my love story with H (since our very first date was at a SH restaurant)."

Princess Anne's 'softer' side

While Princess Anne is famed for her no-nonsense attitude, the royal softens when it comes to spending time with her grandchildren.

According to Ingrid Seward, editor-in-chief of Majesty Magazine, Anne breaks this one rule when it comes to her family.

"Anne has a very masculine energy but definitely has a soft side, like Prince Philip did, and she is very proud of Peter and Zara," Ingrid told Best Quality Designer Handbag .

"She's always refused to be photographed kissing babies in public, but she’s different with her own grandchildren and she obviously adores them."

This exception was proved back in 2016, when Anne affectionately kissed her granddaughter Mia's cheek as they watched her daughter Zara Tindall play in a Jockeys vs Olympians charity polo match.

Anne is the doting grandmother to her daughter Zara and her husband Mike Tindall's three children Mia, Lena and Lucas, as well as her son Peter Phillip's beloved daughters, Savannah and Isla, whom he shares with his ex-wife Autumn Phillips.

In the 2020 ITV documentary, Anne: The Princess Royal at 70, Peter shared some insight into what his mother is like as a grandmother.

He said: "She loves seeing them ride [horses], she loves having them round for Sunday lunches and taking them for walks. Doing all the things that we would do as kids."

Meghan Markle defended as As ever traffic figures revealed

It's been revealed that the Duchess of Sussex's lifestyle venture, As ever, has drawn just under 400,000 American visitors to its website since the start of the year.

It falls short of the inventory levels of 650,000 product units, which were exposed by a technical error on the site, according to Newsweek. Actual sales figures remain unpublished.

A source with knowledge of As ever told the publication that they anticipated it would "double in size this year. By any measure, for any startup, you can't deny that is anything but a success. People are obsessed with wanting her to fail.

"The commentariat are clouded by their own prejudice and a need to perpetuate a narrative that her business is a failure, because they pegged her that way from the start and they can’t take being wrong."

Meghan founded the brand in 2025, the same year her Netflix programme, With Love, Meghan, was launched.

It comes after Meghan registered 12 trademarks in Australia for As ever, according filings with the Australian Government's intellectual property office filed in September 2024 and approved last year. Could these mean Meghan is planning to expand her brand in Australia?

The filings cover a range of categories, including skincare, candles, gardening, clothes, jewellery, homeware, event planning, podcasts and self-care under the description "fancy".

They also include "gardening trowels, gardening shears, gardening wedding forks" and a "garden tool gift set", as well as "yoga straps" and "pet feeding mats".

One person who wasn't on the guest list was Prince Harry. A friend close to the newlyweds previously told HELLO!: "Peter and Harry haven’t spoken for several years and have simply lost touch, so he hasn’t been invited."
