See Millie Bobby Brown's incredible transformation in then-and-now photos as she turns 22

Before Millie found worldwide fame in Stranger Things, she already had experience on the small screen.

Her TV debut was in 2013, when she was just nine years old, in the ABC fantasy drama series Once Upon a Time in Wonderland. She then had a starring role as Madison O'Donnell in the BBC America series Intruders, and enjoyed guest roles in NCIS, Modern Family, and Grey's Anatomy.

Millie's life would never be the same after she landed the role of Eleven in the Netflix sci-fi series Stranger Things. She was just 12 years old when the show was released in 2016, and she starred in it for almost a decade before it aired its final season in 2025.

When filming wrapped at the end of 2024, Millie shared a tearful video on Instagram. She said to the cast and crew: "Graduation is supposed to bring relief like you’re glad to leave behind the teachers and classmates – not me.

"I am nowhere near ready to leave you guys. I love each and every one of you, and I'll forever carry the memories and bonds we’ve created together as a family. I love you. Thank you."

Millie isn't just an actress. In 2019, she launched florence by mills, a cosmetics and fashion brand that later ventured into skincare, bags and luggage, eyewear, fragrance, and even coffee blends.

Discussing her fashion brand, Millie says on the website: "Creating florence by mills fashion has allowed me to show people who I am and what my lifestyle is like when I am not working. I feel more connected to my fans, as they can see what I like to wear day-to-day, and I love seeing what pieces they choose and how they like to style them."

As her star rose thanks to the success of Stranger Things, Hollywood came calling, and Millie found herself as the leading lady in several movies that elevated her career and popularity. 

In 2019, she starred as Madison Russell in Godzilla vs Kong. The following year, she took on the role of Sherlock Holmes' teenage sister in the film Enola Holmes, opposite Henry Cavill, and reprised her role in the 2022 sequel.

In 2024, she starred as Elodie in Netflix's fantasy film Damsel, about a young woman whose marriage to a charming prince turns into a fierce fight for survival when she's offered up as a sacrifice to a fire-breathing dragon.

Millie starred opposite Chris Pratt in 2025's The Electric State, in which she played Michelle Greene, an orphaned teen who hits the road with a mysterious robot to find her long-lost brother, teaming up with a smuggler and his wisecracking sidekick.

Millie caused a stir when she debuted a platinum blonde hair transformation in February 2025, which led to her naming and shaming journalists for "dissecting" her face, body, and personal choices after her new look inspired several headlines scrutinizing her appearance.

"I started in this industry when I was 10 years old. I grew up in front of the world, and for some reason, people can't seem to grow with me. Instead, they act like I'm supposed to stay frozen in time, like I should still look the way I did on Stranger Things Season 1. And because I don't, I'm now a target."

She added: "Disillusioned people can't handle seeing a girl become a woman on her terms, not theirs. I refuse to apologize for growing up."

Millie became Mrs. Bongiovi in May 2024 after she married Bon Jovi frontman Jon Bon Jovi's son, Jake Bongiovi, in an intimate ceremony in the US. They had a larger celebration in Tuscany, Italy, that October.

Millie wore five stunning dresses throughout the celebrations, including her French lace ceremony dress designed by Israeli label Galia Lahav, a pre-reception romantic vintage high-neck Valentino maxi, an Oscar de la Renta halterneck reception dress, and a lustrous Vivienne Westwood bustier mini for the after-party.

Millie and Jake began dating in 2021 and announced their engagement in April 2023.

In August 2025, Millie and Jake announced they had welcomed a baby daughter via adoption. "This summer, we welcomed our sweet baby girl through adoption," Millie shared on Instagram.

"We are beyond excited to embark on this beautiful next chapter of parenthood in both peace and privacy," she went on, confirming: "And then there were three." 

The couple has purposely avoided disclosing their daughter's name, opting to keep her out of the spotlight. "It's really important to protect her and her story until she's old enough to potentially one day share it herself," she told Vogue.

While she's keeping quiet about her daughter, Millie did describe parenthood as "a beautiful, amazing journey."
