Yellow is definitely Priyanka Chopra's color.
The Citadel actress has a new movie out next week, The Bluff, about a Caribbean woman fending off buccaneers from her island.
The film, which also stars Karl Urban, just had its Los Angeles premiere, and for the special night, its lead star honored her character Ercell Bodden with a stunning yellow dress.
After the premiere, Priyanka took to Instagram and shared photos of her look, a yellow, saree-inspired mini dress with fitted draping and two long trains.
Priyanka posed in the look at the iconic TCL Chinese Theatre, also highlighting her perfectly-themed Judith Lieber treasure chest clutch.
"Wearing this is an ode to Ercell Bodden, my character in The Bluff. In the opening of the film she appears with a dupatta over her head, a subtle but meaningful marker of identity and strength," she shared in her caption, referring to the shall-like scarf traditional of South Asian fashion.
She continued: "I love a saree. And when I saw this piece walk down the couture runway last month, it felt like a saree with a modern twist. We immediately called Gaurav and asked him to hold it for me."
Priyanka further reflected: "There's a quiet power in its simplicity. The precision of the tailoring, the way it drapes and moves, felt both rooted and forward looking, and the bright yellow is so synonymous with the colorful palette of India."
"To me, this piece is a testament to the growing global scope of Indian fashion and how beautifully our heritage continues to evolve," she concluded.
Fans were then quick to take to the comments section under the post and gush over it, though first her husband Nick Jonas left a heart-eyes emoji, as the dress' designer Gaurav Gupta added: "You carry India , the tradition, the modern, the complexity and the vigour so effortlessly! It was made for you!!"
Others followed suit with: "STUNNING in my favorite color," and: "You're a goddess omg," as well as: "Cannot wait for The Bluff to release! So powerful!"
The Bluff, out February 25, in addition to Priyanka and Karl also stars Temuera Morrison, Ismael Cruz Córdova, and Safia Oakley-Green, among others, and was directed by directed by Frank E. Flowers.
