Caitríona Balfe arrived in style at the premiere of the eighth and final season of Outlander in NYC on Tuesday.
The 46-year-old, who has starred as fan-favorite Claire Fraser since the show's premiere in 2014, turned heads in a stunning floor-skimming red dress for the highly anticipated event at Alice Tully Hall.
Caitríona's vivid silk dress looked incredible against her fair complexion and featured lace detailing along the plunging neckline and around the hem of the skirt.
She wore her brunette hair down in soft waves and added a pop of color to her natural makeup with a soft red lip.
The actress posed for photos alongside her castmates, including her on-screen love interest, Sam Heughan, who rocked a red, black, and green kilt.
Outlander wrapped filming its final season on September 27, 2024. The show shared a photo of Caitríona and Sam on Instagram, posing with a clapboard, alongside a touching message marking the end of an era.
"Nothing is lost, Sassenach, only changed," the caption explained. "Today marks the final day of filming on the final season of #Outlander. Words cannot express the gratitude owed to each and every hard-working cast and crew member who brought this incredible series to life and every single fan who supports it with passion, creativity, and dedication.
"Outlander really is more than just a show, it's a family, and while filming might be ending, there's so much more to this journey that's just beginning. Sláinte! (PS: our eagle-eyed fans might notice some of the clapboards include what our cast members want to take from the set. What would YOU steal?)"
When it was announced in 2023 that Outlander had been renewed for a final series, Caitríona shared her reaction in a statement on Instagram.
"We have BIG news. Bittersweet but also very exciting that we get to continue this journey for an 8th and final season," she wrote.
"It's been a gift beyond my wildest dreams, brought me friendships for life, stretched me as an actor and a person and now we get to give you back one more season and finish it right for all you amazing fans. Thank you for being with us on this magical journey."
Speaking to Parade during filming, Caitríona admitted that one of the hardest things to deal with about the show coming to an end was "not coming here and seeing all of these people that I've worked with for 11 years. Stability, that's going to be really hard to let go of."
Discussing what she hoped Outlander's legacy would be, she added: "I hope it continues to just be inspirational and aspirational… Also, I hope that we just continue to draw people to Scotland by showing them what a beautiful place it is."
The eighth season of Outlander consists of 10 episodes and will premiere on STARZ on March 6, with new episodes released weekly.
