Rachel Weisz has always been a master of cool and collected red carpet fashion. Her penchant for darker clothing and equally dark, perfectly waved hair make her a reliably stylish feature on every red carpet. Ahead of the actress' 56th birthday on 7 March and her new Netflix series Vladimir, in which Rachel's character lusts after the titular character played by Leo Woodall, we're taking a look back at the actress' obsession-worthy wardrobe.

From pink velvet to textured mauve and a fondness for black, we can't get enough of her crafted portfolio and perfectly curated outfits. Take a look below and, if you need me, I'll be on eBay looking for black '90s slip dresses.

Rachel Weisz knows how to turn simplicity into elegance

The Mummy (1999)

Rachel starred alongside 1990s heartthrob Brendan Fraser in The Mummy (1999) as Evelyn Carnahan, a brave yet clumsy librarian. Appearing the same year at the Elle Style Awards, Rachel Weisz dressed all in black, donning a simple and elegant thin-strapped dress.

About a Boy (2002)

A simple colour palette can make a bold statement. At the Vanity Fair Oscars party in 2002, Rachel donned a one-shouldered black dress with a thigh-high slit and kept her hair casually styled. The same year, she starred opposite Hugh Grant in the touching drama About a Boy

Rachel's enviably thick brunette hair has become a signature of the actress' style

The Constant Gardener (2005)

Small straps and a bit of colour brings with it images of a summer garden, a far more sedate affair than her 2005 role alongside Ralph Fiennes in The Constant Gardener. At a New York event for the film, Rachel selected a textured mauve dress to complement her signature brunette locks.

Rachel Weisz is one of three love interests in the Ryan Reynolds rom-com

Definitely, Maybe (2008)

A bold red sash tied Rachel's outfit together for the premiere of Definitely, Maybe (2008) in New York City. The outfit also helped to promote the rom-com, in which she starred opposite Ryan Reynolds, by subtly matching the movie poster's colour palette. The bold break of colour and formal silhouette are relaxed, and she added a simple wave to her hair and held a clutch casually to her side.

The Bourne Legacy (2012)

The Mummy star took on another academic role, this time in The Bourne Legacy as Dr Marta Shearing. For the New York premiere in July 2012, Rachel opted for a strapless black dress and a bright pink lip that brought a hint of the summer sunshine. She completed the look by pulling her hair up into a more formal style.

Rachel Weisz stars alongside Colin Farrell in a surreal exploration of romantic compatibility

The Lobster (2015)

Yorgos Lanthimos' psychological romance, The Lobster, had Rachel cast as Short Sighted Woman (the narrator) opposite Colin Farrell's David. While Colin's character in the film faces an impossible decision – pair up or get transformed into an animal of his choosing (yes, really) – Rachel made a surely correct choice with her outfit for one of the film's events. She opted for a classic, all-black jumpsuit featuring a strategic cutout that helped break up the block of colour. The perfect summer inspiration for those of us who favour darker wardrobes.

The Favourite sees Rachel serve as Olivia Colman's partner and lady in waiting

The Favourite (2018)

Deep and dark, burgundy is the perfect way to introduce colour without getting anywhere near garish. Rachel's sparkly, soft-sleeved gown paired glamour perfectly with a more subtle palette that complemented the silver ensembles worn by co-stars Olivia Colman and Emma Stone.

Rachel Weisz stars in the Emmy-nominated psychological horror Dead Ringers

Dead Ringers (2023)

Rachel opted for a burgundy hue once more, this time erring on the pinker side, for a special screening of Dead Ringers at the BFI in 2023. The more neutral variation on red feels appropriate enough for a series focussed on identical twins who set out to change the way in which women give birth, but keeps the reference simple and strong.

Rachel Weisz, who stars in Netflix's new series Vladimir, attended a Knives Out event with her husband Daniel Craig in 2025

Vladimir (2026)

Rachel and her husband Daniel Craig matched outfits for the premiere of the third Knives Out mystery, with the James Bond actor opting for a classic dark suit while his wife went for an even darker shade. Rachel's pointed shoes completed her classic yet sharp look, with her long waves keeping things soft. Her newest project, Vladimir, releases on Netflix in March 2026, with the Oscar-winning actress taking on the role of a woman obsessed with her coworker, played by Leo Woodall.
